1. Introduction and Overview
The Blade Infusion 180 is a high-performance collective pitch RC helicopter designed for durability and advanced flight capabilities. This model is a Bind-N-Fly (BNF) Basic version, meaning it comes assembled but requires a compatible Spektrum DSMX/DSM2 aircraft transmitter, a suitable battery, and a charger to operate.
Key features include:
- SAFE® Technology: Provides self-leveling modes to assist with learning collective pitch helicopter flight.
- Progressive Flight Modes: Allows pilots to gradually develop and enhance their collective pitch flying skills.
- Panic Recovery: Enables the helicopter to return to a level attitude with the activation of a switch.
- Smart Technology: Integrated for telemetry feedback when used with Smart-capable Spektrum transmitters.
- Durable Construction: Features a blend of carbon fiber, ABS plastic, and aluminum components for rigidity and resilience.
- Direct Drive Power System: An oversized direct-drive brushless motor eliminates main rotor gears, offering instant power and a simplified design.
The Infusion 180 is designed for thrilling aerobatics and is easily visible during flight due to its one-piece canopy, bright white tail fin, and main landing gear. It is equipped with a micro AR6251MHX Flight Controller, factory-tuned for optimal performance, and a Spektrum Smart Avian™ ESC for precise head speed control.

5. Setup
5.1 Battery Installation
- Ensure the flight battery is fully charged using a compatible LiPo charger.
- Carefully open the canopy of the Infusion 180.
- Insert the charged flight battery into the designated battery compartment. Secure it to prevent movement during flight.
- Connect the battery to the helicopter's ESC. Ensure correct polarity.
- Close the canopy securely.
5.2 Transmitter Binding
As a Bind-N-Fly (BNF) Basic model, the Infusion 180 requires binding to a compatible Spektrum DSMX/DSM2 aircraft transmitter. Refer to your transmitter's manual for specific binding instructions. Generally, the process involves:
- Power on your transmitter and select the appropriate model memory for the Infusion 180.
- Initiate the binding process on your transmitter.
- Power on the Infusion 180 (by connecting the flight battery). The receiver will enter binding mode.
- Once the binding is complete, the receiver's LED will indicate a solid connection.
- Power cycle both the transmitter and the helicopter to confirm the bind.
5.3 Pre-Flight Checks
Before each flight, perform the following checks:
- Ensure all screws and fasteners are tight.
- Check for any damage to the main blades, tail blades, landing gear, and canopy.
- Verify that all control surfaces (swashplate, tail rotor) respond correctly to transmitter inputs.
- Confirm the flight battery is fully charged and securely installed.
- Check the flight area for obstacles and ensure it is clear of people and animals.
6. Operating
The Blade Infusion 180 offers various flight modes to accommodate different skill levels and flight styles.
6.1 Flight Modes
- SAFE® Self-Leveling Mode: Ideal for beginners, this mode provides automatic self-leveling, making the helicopter easier to control and more stable.
- Progressive Flight Modes: As your skills advance, you can switch to more agile flight modes that offer increased control authority and allow for more aggressive maneuvers. Consult the full product manual for detailed descriptions of each progressive mode.
6.2 Panic Recovery
In situations where you lose orientation or control, activate the Panic Recovery function. This feature will instantly return the helicopter to a level, upright attitude, providing an opportunity to regain control. Ensure you are familiar with the Panic Recovery switch assignment on your transmitter.
6.3 Smart Technology Telemetry
When paired with a Smart-capable Spektrum transmitter, the Infusion 180's built-in Smart Technology provides real-time telemetry data. This can include battery voltage, motor RPM, and other vital flight information, enhancing your awareness during operation.

7. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your Blade Infusion 180.
- Post-Flight Inspection: After each flight, visually inspect the helicopter for any signs of damage, loose connections, or worn parts. Pay close attention to the main and tail rotor systems, landing gear, and servo linkages.
- Cleaning: Keep the helicopter clean from dirt, dust, and debris. Use a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using solvents that may damage plastic components.
- Component Check: Periodically check the tightness of all screws and ensure that the metal gear digital swashplate servos operate smoothly without excessive play.
- Blade Inspection: Inspect main and tail blades for nicks, cracks, or imbalances. Replace damaged blades immediately.
- Battery Care: Follow proper LiPo battery charging, discharging, and storage guidelines to maximize battery life and safety.
8. Troubleshooting
This section provides general guidance for common issues. For detailed troubleshooting steps, refer to the comprehensive manual available from the manufacturer.
- Helicopter Not Responding: Ensure the transmitter is powered on, bound to the helicopter, and has fresh batteries. Check that the flight battery is connected and charged.
- Unstable Flight/Vibrations: Inspect main and tail blades for damage or imbalance. Check for loose components or bent shafts. Ensure the flight controller is properly mounted.
- Loss of Power: Verify the flight battery is fully charged and healthy. Check motor and ESC connections.
- Control Issues: Confirm servo linkages are free and undamaged. Recalibrate your transmitter if necessary.
