Main Components:

• Control Panel: Intuitive touch display for beverage selection and customization.
• Coffee Bean Hopper: Located at the top, for whole coffee beans.

Setup and First Use

1. Unpacking: Remove all packaging materials and place the machine on a stable, level surface.
2. Rinsing: Before first use, rinse the water tank and brew group under running water.
3. Water Hardness Test: Use the provided water hardness test strip to determine your water hardness level. Adjust the machine settings accordingly (refer to the full manual for detailed instructions).
4. Fill Water Tank: Fill the water tank with fresh tap water up to the MAX indication.
5. Fill Bean Hopper: Open the lid of the bean hopper and fill it with fresh coffee beans.

6. Power On: Plug the appliance into a grounded wall socket and press the power button. The machine will perform an automatic rinsing cycle.

Operating Instructions

Making Coffee (Espresso or Coffee)

1. Place one or two cups under the coffee dispenser.
2. On the intuitive touch display, select your desired beverage (Espresso or Coffee).

3. The machine will automatically grind the beans and brew your coffee.

Customizing Your Coffee (My Coffee Choice)

The 'My Coffee Choice' feature allows you to adjust the aroma intensity and beverage quantity.

• Aroma Intensity: Select from 3 settings (mild, medium, strong) by tapping the aroma icon on the display.
• Beverage Quantity: Adjust the volume of your drink by tapping the cup icon on the display.

Adjusting Grind Settings

The machine features 12 grind settings for optimal flavor extraction.

• To adjust the grind setting, use the adjustment knob located inside the bean hopper.
• Turn the knob while the grinder is operating (e.g., during brewing) to prevent damage.
• A finer grind (smaller numbers) results in a stronger espresso, while a coarser grind (larger numbers) produces a lighter coffee.

Using Pre-ground Coffee

• Open the lid of the pre-ground coffee compartment.
• Add one scoop of pre-ground coffee. Do not add more than one scoop to avoid clogging.

• Select your desired beverage. The machine will automatically use the pre-ground coffee.

Using the Classic Milk Frother (Steam Wand)

The classic milk frother allows you to prepare creamy milk foam for cappuccinos and lattes.

1. Fill a milk pitcher with cold milk.
2. Submerge the steam wand into the milk.
3. Select the 'Steam' function on the display.

4. Move the pitcher up and down to create foam.
5. Once desired foam is achieved, turn off the steam function.
6. Clean the steam wand immediately after use.

Hot Water Function

The machine can also dispense hot water for tea or other hot beverages.

• Place a cup under the hot water spout (usually the steam wand).
• Select the 'Hot Water' function on the display.
• Press the start/stop button to begin and end dispensing.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning and maintenance ensure optimal performance and longevity of your espresso machine.

Daily Cleaning

• Drip Tray and Coffee Grounds Container: Empty and rinse daily. The machine will indicate when the grounds container needs emptying.
• Brew Group: Remove the brew group by pressing the 'PUSH' button and pulling it out. Rinse it thoroughly under running water. Allow it to air dry before reinserting.

• Steam Wand: Wipe the steam wand with a damp cloth immediately after each use to prevent milk residue from drying.

Descaling (Calc/Clean)

The machine will prompt you when descaling is required. Follow the on-screen instructions or refer to the full manual for the detailed descaling procedure using Philips Walita descaling solution.

AquaClean Filter

Using an AquaClean water filter reduces the need for descaling. Replace the filter when prompted by the machine.
