4. Setup and Installation

4.1 Battery Installation

The Fenix GL19R comes with an ARB-L18-1100P Li-ion rechargeable battery pre-installed. If you need to access or replace the battery:

  1. Unscrew the tail cap of the flashlight.
  2. Insert the ARB-L18-1100P battery with the positive (+) end facing towards the head of the flashlight.
  3. Screw the tail cap back on securely.

4.2 Rail Plate Installation

The GL19R is compatible with most full-size pistols featuring a GL or MIL-STD-1913 (Picatinny) rail. It comes with the GL rail plate pre-installed. To change the rail plate:

  1. Locate the small screw on the side of the flashlight that secures the rail plate.
  2. Unscrew and remove the existing rail plate.
  3. Align the desired rail plate (GL or 1913) with the flashlight body.
  4. Secure the new rail plate with the screw. Ensure it is tightened firmly.

4.3 Mounting the Flashlight

To mount the GL19R onto your firearm's rail:

  1. Loosen the mounting clamp screw on the side of the flashlight.
  2. Slide the flashlight onto the firearm's accessory rail until it clicks into place.
  3. Tighten the mounting clamp screw firmly to secure the flashlight. Ensure it is stable and does not wobble.

5. Operation

5.1 Power On/Off

  • Momentary-On: Press and hold either of the ambidextrous switches for over 1 second. Release to turn off.
  • Constant-On: Single click either switch to turn the light on. Single click again to turn off.

5.2 Output Selection

With the light on, press and hold either switch and simultaneously single click the other switch to cycle through Turbo and High modes.

5.3 Strobe Mode

With the light on, double click either switch to activate Strobe mode. Single click either switch to return to the previously used mode.

5.4 Lockout Function

To prevent accidental activation, the GL19R features a lockout function:

  • Lock: With the light off, press and hold both switches simultaneously for 5 seconds. The light will flash twice to indicate it is locked.
  • Unlock: Press and hold both switches simultaneously for 5 seconds. The light will flash twice and then turn on in the last used mode, indicating it is unlocked.

6. Charging

The Fenix GL19R features a built-in USB Type-C charging port for convenient recharging of the ARB-L18-1100P battery.

  1. Locate the USB Type-C charging port on the side of the flashlight.
  2. Open the protective rubber cover.
  3. Connect the supplied USB Type-C charging cable to the flashlight and plug the other end into a USB power source (e.g., computer, wall adapter, power bank).
  4. The charging indicator lights will illuminate to show the charging status. Typically, blue lights indicate charging progress, and solid blue lights indicate a full charge.
  5. Once charging is complete, disconnect the cable and securely close the rubber cover to maintain the IP66 rating.

6.1 Battery Level Indication

The GL19R features a battery level indicator to help you monitor the battery status:

  • Solid Blue: 100% - 85%
  • Flashing Blue: 85% - 50%
  • Solid Red: 50% - 25%
  • Flashing Red: 25% - 0% (Recharge immediately)

7. Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your Fenix GL19R flashlight.

  • Cleaning: Clean the body of the flashlight with a soft cloth. For optical lens, use a lens cleaning cloth.

  • Thread Lubrication: Apply a thin layer of silicone grease to the threads of the tail cap periodically to ensure smooth operation and water resistance.
  • Battery Care: If the flashlight will not be used for an extended period, remove the battery to prevent leakage and damage. Store the battery in a cool, dry place.
  • Avoid Disassembly: Do not disassemble the sealed head of the flashlight as it may damage the light and void the warranty.

8. Troubleshooting
