- Carefully remove the toaster from its packaging. Remove all packaging materials, labels, and stickers.
- Wipe down the exterior of the toaster with a damp cloth to remove any dust.
- Before first use, operate the toaster without bread on the highest setting (7) for a few cycles. This will burn off any manufacturing residues and eliminate initial odors. It is normal for a slight odor or smoke to be present during this initial operation. Ensure the area is well-ventilated.
- Place the toaster on a stable, level, and heat-resistant surface, away from flammable materials such as curtains or walls.
Operating Instructions
Loading Bread and Bagels
The toaster features extra-wide self-centering slots designed to accommodate various types of bread, including thick slices and bagels. Insert one slice of bread or one half of a bagel into each slot. For bagels, ensure the cut side faces inwards for optimal toasting.
Toast Shade Selection
Use the browning control knob on the front of the toaster to select your desired toast shade. Settings range from 1 (lightest) to 7 (darkest). Adjust the setting based on your preference and the type of bread being toasted.
Bagel Function
For perfect bagels, insert the bagel halves with the cut side facing the center of the toaster. Press the Bagel button (often indicated by a bagel icon). This function toasts the cut side of the bagel while gently warming the outer crust.
Frozen Function
To toast frozen bread or bagels, insert the item into the slots and press the Frozen button (often indicated by a snowflake icon). This function automatically adjusts the toasting time to account for the frozen state, ensuring even results.
High-Lift Lever
Once toasting is complete, the toast carriage will automatically rise. For smaller items like English muffins or small bagels, use the high-lift lever to raise the carriage further, making it easier and safer to retrieve your toasted food without touching hot surfaces.
Cancel Button
To stop the toasting cycle at any time, simply turn the browning control knob to the lowest setting (often indicated by a cancel icon or '0'). This will immediately pop up the toast carriage.
Maintenance and Cleaning
Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your toaster.
Crumb Tray Cleaning
- Always unplug the toaster and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
- Locate the drop-down crumb tray at the bottom of the toaster.
- Pull the tray out or open it to remove accumulated crumbs.
- Discard crumbs and wipe the tray clean with a damp cloth. Dry thoroughly before reinserting.
- Push the crumb tray back into place until it clicks securely.
Exterior Cleaning
Wipe the exterior of the toaster with a soft, damp cloth. For stubborn spots on the stainless steel finish, a mild stainless steel cleaner can be used. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scouring pads that could scratch the surface. Ensure the toaster is completely dry before plugging it back in.
