BMC CPAP Automatic Sleep Apnea Machine

Model E-20A-H-O User Manual

Brand: O2 OXIPLUS

1. Product Overview

The BMC CPAP Automatic Sleep Apnea Machine, Model E-20A-H-O, is a medical device designed for the treatment of Obstructive Sleep Apnea Syndrome (OSAS). This automatic CPAP machine provides adjustable variable pressure from 4 to 20 cm H2O and includes an integrated humidifier for enhanced comfort during therapy. It is engineered to offer effective sleep assistance by preventing airway collapse during sleep, thereby improving oxygenation and sleep quality.

OSAS is characterized by repeated episodes of partial obstruction of the upper airways. These obstruction episodes occur when the soft tissues of the throat collapse during sleep, leading to decreased oxygenation and inadvertent micro-awakenings that disrupt restful sleep. Symptoms often include snoring, daytime sleepiness, difficulty concentrating, fatigue, headaches, and irritability.

The device incorporates four-in-one noise reduction technology, maintaining a noise level below 30 dB, and allows for real-time display of multiple parameters to monitor treatment effectiveness. It also stores compliance data for up to 365 nights.

4.4 Mask Fitting

Proper mask fitting is crucial for effective therapy and comfort. The package includes two types of masks: an Oronasal Mask (Gold Nasa BMC Mask with Front Support) and a Nasal Mask (BMC Nasal Mask with Front Support).

Oronasal Mask Sizing (Gold Nasa BMC Mask)

To determine the correct size for the Oronasal mask, measure from the lower edge of your lip and chin to where your nose ends at eyebrow height:

  • Large: Greater than 10 cm
  • Medium: Between 9 cm to 10 cm
  • Small: Less than 9 cm to 8 cm
Nasal Mask Sizing (BMC Nasal Mask)

To determine the correct size for the Nasal mask, measure the width and height of your nose at the height where it ends (between the eyebrows):

  • Large: Width up to 4.8 cm and Height 5 cm
  • Medium: Width up to 4.2 cm and Height 4.8 cm

  • To stop therapy, press the 'Start/Stop' button again.

5.2 Adjusting Pressure Settings

The BMC CPAP Automatic machine operates in variable and fixed pressure modes, with a pressure range of 4 to 20 cm H2O. Pressure settings are typically pre-set by your healthcare provider. Consult your doctor before making any adjustments to your prescribed pressure settings.
