  1. Gently lift the dust cover from the cooling fan unit.
  2. Ensure the fan is clear of any obstructions.
  3. To re-install, align the two holes under the dust cover with the corresponding pins on the fan unit, then gently press down.

2. Cleaning Dust Filters and Plugs

Regularly inspect and clean the dust filters and plugs to maintain optimal airflow and dust prevention:

  • Gently remove the dust filters from the console's vents.
  • Use a soft brush or compressed air to remove accumulated dust.
  • Wipe the silicone dust plugs with a damp cloth if necessary.
  • Ensure all components are completely dry before re-installing.

Troubleshooting

  • Fan not spinning: Ensure the USB cable is securely connected to both the cooling fan unit and an active USB port on the Xbox Series X. Verify the console is powered on.
  • Lights not working: Check the USB connection. Press the light touch switch to cycle through modes or turn them on.
  • Poor cooling performance: Ensure the fan unit is properly seated on the console's vent. Remove the top dust cover during intense gaming sessions for maximum airflow. Clean dust filters regularly.
