Important Safety Instructions
When using an electrical appliance, basic precautions should always be followed, including the following:
- Read all instructions before using this appliance.
- Use only as described in this manual. Use only Hoover recommended attachments and solutions.
- Do not leave appliance when plugged in. Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning or servicing.
- Do not allow to be used as a toy. Close attention is necessary when used by or near children.
- Do not use with damaged cord or plug. If appliance is not working as it should, has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or dropped into water, return it to a service center.
- Do not pull or carry by cord, use cord as a handle, close a door on cord, or pull cord around sharp edges or corners. Do not run appliance over cord. Keep cord away from heated surfaces.
- Do not unplug by pulling on cord. To unplug, grasp the plug, not the cord.
- Do not handle plug or appliance with wet hands.
- Do not put any object into openings. Do not use with any opening blocked; keep free of dust, lint, hair, and anything that may reduce air flow.
- Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and all parts of body away from openings and moving parts.
- Turn off all controls before unplugging.
- Use extra care when cleaning on stairs.
- Do not use to pick up flammable or combustible liquids, such as gasoline, or use in areas where they may be present.
- Connect to a properly grounded outlet only. See grounding instructions.
Setup and Assembly
Before first use, ensure all components are present and properly assembled. Refer to the diagram below for component identification.

Unpacking
- Carefully remove all contents from the packaging.
- Verify that all parts listed in the packing list are included.
- Remove any protective packaging materials from the unit.
Filling the Clean Water Tank
- Remove the clean water tank from the machine.
- Fill the tank with warm tap water up to the indicated fill line.
- Add the recommended amount of Hoover carpet cleaning solution to the solution compartment. Do not overfill.
- Securely replace the clean water tank onto the machine.
Operating Instructions
Preparing the Area
- Vacuum the carpet thoroughly to remove loose dirt and debris.
- Move furniture and other obstacles from the area to be cleaned.
- For heavily soiled areas or tough stains, pre-treat with a suitable Hoover pre-treatment solution.
Deep Cleaning Process
- Plug the machine into a grounded electrical outlet.
- Press the power button to turn on the machine.
- Cleaning Pass: Push the machine forward slowly while holding down the trigger to apply cleaning solution.
- Drying Pass: Release the trigger and pull the machine backward slowly over the same area to extract dirty water. Repeat drying passes until minimal water is being extracted.
- Empty the dirty water tank when it reaches the full line or after cleaning a significant area. Refill the clean water tank as needed.

Quick Clean Mode

For lighter cleaning needs or quick refreshes, the Quick Clean Mode cleans and dries carpets faster, allowing for rapid turnaround of cleaned areas.
Maintenance
After Each Use
- Empty and Rinse Dirty Water Tank: Remove the dirty water tank and dispose of the contents. Rinse the tank thoroughly with clean water to remove any residue.
- Rinse Clean Water Tank: If any solution remains, empty and rinse the clean water tank.
- Clean Nozzle and Brushes: Remove the nozzle cover and rinse it under running water. Inspect the SpinScrub brushes for any trapped debris (hair, lint) and remove them. The brushes can be rinsed if necessary.
- Wipe Down Machine: Wipe the exterior of the machine with a clean, damp cloth.
Storage
Store the carpet cleaner in a dry, indoor area. Ensure both tanks are empty and clean before storage to prevent mildew or odor buildup.
Troubleshooting
Before performing any troubleshooting, ensure the machine is unplugged from the power outlet.
