Setup
Installation
The KENWOOD KMM-BT232U is designed for professional installation. Incorrect wiring or mounting can cause damage to the unit or your vehicle. It is highly recommended to have the unit installed by a qualified car audio technician.
General Installation Guidelines:

Initial Power-On

Front Panel Controls

Bluetooth Pairing
To connect your smartphone or other Bluetooth device:
- Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your mobile device.
- On the KMM-BT232U, select the Bluetooth source.
- Search for available Bluetooth devices on your phone. The unit will appear as "KMM-BT232U" or similar.
- Select the unit from your phone's list and confirm the pairing code if prompted.
- Once paired, you can stream audio and make/receive hands-free calls.
USB and AUX Playback
- USB: Insert a USB storage device into the front USB port. The unit will automatically switch to USB source and begin playback of compatible audio files (MP3, WMA, WAV, AAC, FLAC). The USB port also provides 1.5A charging.
- AUX: Connect an external audio player to the front 3.5mm AUX input. Select the AUX source on the unit.
Audio Settings (Equalizer)
The KMM-BT232U features a 13-band equalizer and digital time alignment to customize your audio experience. Access these settings through the menu system (press the rotary encoder) to adjust sound to your preference.
Detachable Faceplate
The front faceplate is detachable for security. To remove, press the release button (usually located on the bottom left or right of the faceplate). To reattach, align the faceplate with the main unit and gently push until it clicks into place.
Maintenance
