This printer is designed to function exclusively with cartridges containing original HP chips or circuitry. It will block cartridges utilizing non-HP chips or circuitry. Periodic firmware updates will be implemented to maintain the effectiveness of these measures.

2. Setup Guide

2.1. What's in the Box

Upon unboxing your HP LaserJet Pro 3001dw printer, verify that all components are present:

2.2. Initial Printer Setup

  1. Unpack the Printer: Remove all packaging materials, tapes, and protective films from the printer.
  2. Connect Power: Plug the power cord into the printer and then into a wall outlet.
  3. Install Toner Cartridge: Open the toner access door and insert the HP 138A Black Toner Cartridge until it clicks into place. Close the door.
  4. Load Paper: Extend the input tray and load plain paper. Adjust the paper guides to fit the paper size. The printer supports various sizes up to 8.5 x 14 inches.
  5. Power On: Press the power button to turn on the printer.

2.4. Software Installation

To fully utilize your printer's features, install the HP Smart app or drivers on your computer or mobile device. The HP Smart app provides fast and easy setup, remote printing capabilities, and toner level monitoring.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1. Printing Documents

Once connected and set up, you can print documents from various devices. Ensure paper is loaded correctly in the input tray.

  • From a Computer: Select your HP LaserJet Pro 3001dw from your printer list in any application and click print.
  • From a Mobile Device: Use the HP Smart app to select documents or photos and send them to your printer.

The printer supports automatic two-sided (duplex) printing, which can be enabled in your print settings to save paper.

4. Maintenance

4.1. Toner Cartridge Replacement

When the toner level is low, the printer or HP Smart app will notify you. To replace the toner cartridge:

  1. Open the toner access door.
  2. Remove the old toner cartridge by pulling it straight out.
  3. Unpack the new HP 138A Black Toner Cartridge and gently shake it to distribute the toner.
  4. Insert the new cartridge into the printer until it locks into place.
  5. Close the toner access door.
