6. Operating Instructions

Once the nebulizer is set up, follow these steps for operation:

  1. Power On: Press the power switch located on the nebulizer unit to turn on the device. The nebulizer will begin to produce mist.
  2. Adjust Mist Output: If desired, rotate the valve cup on the medication cup to adjust the mist output. Turning it from 0-90 degrees will provide a thin to medium mist, while 90-180 degrees will provide a medium to dense mist.
  3. Begin Treatment: Place the mouthpiece in your mouth or position the mask securely over your nose and mouth. Breathe normally and deeply to inhale the mist.
  4. Complete Treatment: Continue treatment until the medication cup is empty or as directed by your healthcare provider. The treatment typically lasts 5-15 minutes, depending on the medication volume.
  5. Power Off: Once treatment is complete, press the power switch to turn off the nebulizer. Unplug the device from the power outlet.

7. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning and maintenance are crucial for the proper functioning and longevity of your nebulizer. Clean the device after each use.

Daily Cleaning:

  1. Disassemble: Disconnect the air tube, medication cup, mouthpiece/mask from the main unit.
  2. Rinse: Rinse the medication cup, mouthpiece, and mask thoroughly with warm tap water.
  3. Dry: Allow all parts to air dry completely on a clean cloth or paper towel. Do not use a towel to dry the inside of the medication cup as it may leave lint.

Weekly Disinfection (or as recommended by your physician):

  1. Prepare Solution: Prepare a solution of one part white vinegar to two parts distilled water, or use a commercially available nebulizer disinfectant.
  2. Soak: Soak the cleaned medication cup, mouthpiece, and mask in the disinfectant solution for 30 minutes.
  3. Rinse and Dry: Rinse all parts thoroughly with sterile water and allow them to air dry completely.

Filter Replacement:

The air filter should be checked regularly and replaced every 1-3 months, or sooner if it appears discolored or clogged. Always use genuine replacement filters.
