1. Introduction

3. Setup Guide

3.1 Unpacking and Inspection

Carefully remove the mixer from its packaging. Inspect the unit for any signs of damage during transit. Retain the packaging for future transport or storage.

3.2 Power Connection

Connect the provided power cable to the EXTERNAL POWER INPUT SOCKET on the rear of the mixer and then to a suitable 220V AC power outlet. Ensure the POWER SWITCH is in the OFF position before connecting.

3.3 Connecting Inputs

The PA12 mixer features 12 channels with 6.5mm/XLR MONO INPUTs. Each channel supports both XLR (for microphones) and 1/4" TRS/TS (for line-level instruments or devices).

  • Microphones: Connect XLR cables from your microphones to the XLR inputs on channels 1-12. If using condenser microphones, activate the 48V PHANTOM POWER switch (located near the main output section) after all connections are made.
  • Instruments/Line Devices: Connect 1/4" cables from instruments (e.g., guitars, keyboards) or line-level devices to the 6.5mm inputs.
  • Computer Connection: Connect your computer to the mixer via USB for audio input and output. This is a plug-and-play feature.

3.4 Connecting Outputs

  • Main Outputs: Connect your main speakers or amplifier to the MAIN OUTS (XLR or 1/4" TRS) on the mixer.
  • Auxiliary Output: Use the AUXILIARY OUTPUT INTERFACE for connecting external effects processors or monitor speakers.
  • Headphones: Connect your headphones to the PHONES jack for monitoring.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Channel Controls Overview

  • GAIN Controller: Adjusts the input sensitivity for each channel. Set this to achieve a strong signal without clipping.
  • [HIGH] TREBLE TONE CONTROLLER: Adjusts the high frequencies of the channel.
  • [MID] ALTO TONE CONTROLLER: Adjusts the mid frequencies of the channel.
  • [LOW] BASS TONE CONTROLLER: Adjusts the low frequencies of the channel.
  • AUX Controller: Controls the level sent to the auxiliary output.
  • FX Controller: Controls the level sent to the internal effects processor.
  • PAN Controller: Adjusts the stereo position (left/right) of the channel.
  • VOLUME FADER: Controls the overall output level of each channel.
  • MUTE Button: Mutes the individual channel.

4.2 Main Output and Effects

  • MAIN L/R Faders: Control the overall volume of the main stereo output.
  • EFFECT VOLUME FADER: Adjusts the overall level of the internal DSP effects.
  • DSP Effects (99 types): Use the PROGRAM CONTROLLER and LCD DISPLAY to select from 99 built-in DSP effects. Rotate the knob to browse and press to select.

4.3 7-Band Stereo Graphic Equalizer

The 7-BAND STEREO GRAPHIC EQUALIZER allows for precise frequency shaping of the main mix. Adjust the sliders to boost or cut specific frequency bands (63Hz, 150Hz, 400Hz, 1kHz, 2.5kHz, 6.4kHz, 15kHz) to optimize your sound for the venue or desired effect.

4.4 Bluetooth and USB/MP3 Playback

  • Bluetooth: Activate Bluetooth mode on the mixer and pair with your mobile device. The mixer can then play audio wirelessly from your device.

  • USB/MP3: Insert a USB flash drive into the USB port. Use the MP3 VOLUME FADER and control buttons (play/pause, skip) to manage audio playback from the USB device. The LCD display will show track information.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning

To maintain the appearance and functionality of your mixer, regularly wipe the surface with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, use a slightly damp cloth and then dry thoroughly. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or waxes, as these can damage the finish and internal components.

5.2 Storage

When not in use for extended periods, store the mixer in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. It is recommended to use the original packaging for protection during storage or transport.

5.3 Safety Precautions

  • Do not expose the mixer to water or excessive moisture.
  • Avoid placing heavy objects on top of the mixer.
  • Ensure proper ventilation to prevent overheating.
  • Disconnect power before cleaning or moving the unit.
