1. Introduction

2. What's in the Box

3. Setup

Follow these steps to set up your Xerox B225DNI printer for the first time:

  1. Unpacking and Placement: Carefully remove the printer from its packaging. Choose a stable, level surface with adequate ventilation. Ensure there is enough space around the printer for proper operation and maintenance. The compact design allows for placement in tight spaces.
  2. Power Connection: Connect the power cord to the printer and then to a grounded electrical outlet.
  3. Software Installation: Insert the Software and Documentation CD into your computer. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the Xerox® Smart Start Software and necessary print drivers.   4. Network Connection: The printer supports Wi-Fi, USB, and Ethernet connectivity. Wi-Fi Direct allows for direct connection from compatible devices without a router.
  5. Load Paper: Open the paper tray and load the desired paper size (up to 250 sheets). The printer supports various media types including plain paper, card stock, labels, high-resolution paper, and glossy photo paper.

4. Operating the Printer

4.1 Printing

The Xerox B225DNI offers fast and efficient monochrome printing. It supports automatic two-sided (duplex) printing on letter and legal-sized paper, with speeds up to 36 pages per minute (PPM) for monochrome. The first page prints in as little as 6.4 seconds.

  • From Computer: Use the installed Xerox Print Drivers for optimal performance and access to advanced features like N-up printing, booklet layout, and watermarks.
  • From Mobile Devices: Print directly from your smartphone or tablet using Apple AirPrint, Mopria Print Service, or Chromebook printing.

4.2 Scanning and Copying

The B225DNI features a 50-sheet automatic document feeder (ADF) for efficient scanning and copying of multiple pages. The Xerox Print & Scan Experience simplifies these tasks on Windows 10 & 11.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your Xerox B225DNI printer.

  • Toner Cartridge Replacement: When the toner is low, the printer's display will indicate it. Replace the cartridge with an authentic Xerox toner cartridge.
  • Toner Recycling: Participate in the Green World Alliance program for hassle-free and environmentally responsible recycling of used toner cartridges.
  • Cleaning: Periodically wipe the exterior of the printer with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. For the scanner glass, use a soft cloth lightly dampened with a non-abrasive glass cleaner.
