3. Safety Information
WARNING: Risk of electric shock. Disconnect power at the fuse or circuit breaker before installing or servicing. All electrical connections must be in accordance with local and National Electrical Code (NEC) standards.
- Ensure the power supply is rated for 120V AC.
- Do not attempt to alter or modify the product.
- Consult a qualified electrician if you are unsure about any part of the installation process.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) during installation.
4. Setup and Installation
The HALO Quicklink system is designed for easy installation, often up to 85% quicker than traditional downlights. It does not require a recessed housing or separate junction box for the fixtures.
4.1 Pre-Installation
- Turn off power at the circuit breaker before starting.
- Determine the desired locations for your fixtures. Ensure adequate spacing and clearance.
- Cut appropriate holes in the ceiling for each fixture. The fixtures are designed for 1/2" to 1-1/4" thick ceilings.
4.2 Power Supply (Driver/Junction Box) Wiring
The pre-galvanized steel driver/junction box features a captive hinged cover for easier access.
- Mount the driver/junction box to a building structure using the integral mounting holes.
- Open the hinged cover.
- Utilize one of the three 1/2" conduit pry-outs or the two Slide-N-Side™ non-metallic (NM) wire traps for wiring.
- Connect mains voltage (120V) wiring to the three 4-port push wire nuts (Line, Neutral, Ground) inside the junction box. The system accepts NM cable types: 14-2, 14-3, 12-2, 12-3 (U.S.) and 14-2, 14-3, 12-2 (Canadian).
- Close the junction box cover securely.

4.3 QuickLink Low-Voltage Connection
The QuickLink system uses a low-voltage cable to connect the power supply to multiple fixtures.
- Connect the low-voltage cable from the power supply to the first fixture using the inline electrical quick connect.
- Connect subsequent fixtures to the low-voltage cable using additional QuickLink connectors. The self-healing cable allows for repositioning of fixtures.
- The system supports powering up to 7 light fixtures with one power supply.

Figure 4.3: A diagram illustrating the complete HALO Quicklink system, showing the power supply connected to multiple fixtures via the low-voltage cable.
4.4 Fixture Mounting
- Once all connections are made, gently push each fixture into its respective ceiling hole.
- Heat-treated springs on the fixture will hold it securely in the ceiling.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Color Temperature Selection
Each fixture features a field-selectable color temperature switch, allowing you to choose the desired light appearance before or during installation. The available color temperatures (CCT) are:
- 2700K: Soft White
- 3000K: Bright White
- 3500K: True White
- 4000K: Cool White

5.2 Dimming Functionality
The HALO Quicklink lights offer continuous flicker-free dimming down to 5% when used with select residential style phase cut dimmers. Ensure your dimmer switch is compatible with LED lighting for optimal performance.
5.3 Application
These fixtures are Wet Location Listed, making them suitable for indoor and outdoor soffit lighting applications, including showers, covered porches, and outdoor walkways.
6. Maintenance
The HALO Quicklink LED Wafer Lights are designed for long-lasting, maintenance-free operation, with an estimated lifespan of 50,000 hours.
6.1 Cleaning
To clean the fixture, ensure power is off at the circuit breaker. Use a soft, dry, or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners, solvents, or any cleaning agents that may damage the finish or electrical components.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your HALO Quicklink lighting system, refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:
- No Light:
- Verify that power is supplied to the circuit at the breaker.
- Check all electrical connections at the junction box and QuickLink connectors to ensure they are secure. Loose connections can prevent operation.
- Ensure the low-voltage cable is properly connected to the power supply and all fixtures.
- Flickering Light:
- Confirm that the dimmer switch used is compatible with LED lighting.
- Ensure all connections are tight and free from damage.
- Incorrect Color Temperature:
- Verify the color temperature selection switch on the back of the fixture is set to the desired CCT.
If problems persist after performing these checks, contact customer support.
