3. Setup and Installation

The installation of these footwell speakers requires drilling into the Waverunner. Due to the nature of this process, it is highly recommended to have the installation performed by a qualified professional or a Yamaha dealership to ensure proper fitment and to avoid damage to your watercraft.

Components Included:

  • Two (2) Yamaha Footwell Speaker Units
  • Mounting Brackets (pre-attached or separate, as per packaging)

Installation Overview (Professional Installation Recommended):

  1. Identify Mounting Location: The speakers are designed to mount just above the mat on the footrest area of your Waverunner. Ensure the chosen location does not interfere with foot placement during operation.
  2. Prepare Mounting Surface: Clean and dry the mounting area thoroughly.
  3. Bracket Installation: The mounting brackets require two holes to be drilled on each side of the ski. The bottom of the mounting bracket is typically secured with 3M double-sided tape in addition to the drilled fasteners.
  4. Speaker Attachment: Once the mounting brackets are securely installed, the speaker units slide onto the brackets and lock into place via a locking pin mechanism. Ensure the speakers are firmly seated and locked before use.

4. Operating Instructions

Charging the Speakers:

To charge the speakers, detach them from the mounting brackets using the quick-release mechanism. Connect the provided charging cable to the charging port on each speaker unit and to a suitable power source. A full charge provides up to 50 hours of playtime at 50% volume or 10 hours at maximum volume.

Bluetooth Pairing:

  1. Ensure the speakers are charged and powered on.
  2. Activate Bluetooth on your mobile device (smartphone, tablet, etc.).
  3. Search for available Bluetooth devices. The speakers should appear as "Yamaha Footwell Speakers" or a similar name.
  4. Select the speakers to pair. A confirmation sound or indicator light will confirm successful pairing.

Basic Controls:

  • Power On/Off: Use the designated power button on each speaker.
  • Volume Control: Adjust volume using the controls on the speaker unit or directly from your paired device.
  • Auto Eco-Connect: This feature allows the speakers to automatically connect to a previously paired device when powered on and within range.
  • One-Touch Off: Allows for quick power-off of the speakers with a single press.

Floating Feature:

The speakers are designed to float, allowing them to be used in the water when detached from the Waverunner. Ensure all ports are securely closed before placing them in water.

5. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: After use, especially in saltwater environments, rinse the speakers with fresh water to remove salt and debris. Wipe them dry with a soft cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Water Resistance: While the speakers are water resistant, they are not fully waterproof. Avoid submerging them for extended periods or exposing them to high-pressure water jets. Ensure charging ports are sealed when not charging.
  • Battery Care: For optimal battery life, avoid fully discharging the speakers frequently. If storing for an extended period, charge them to approximately 50% before storage and recharge every few months.
  • Storage: Store the speakers in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures when not in use.
