Operating Instructions

This section details how to create cotton candy using your machine.

Preparation

  • Ensure the machine is properly assembled and plugged into a suitable electrical outlet.
  • Gather your floss sugar or hard candy.
  • Have paper cones ready for collecting the cotton candy.

Making Cotton Candy

  1. Turn the machine ON using the power switch. Allow the machine to pre-heat for approximately 5-10 minutes. This allows the spinning head to reach the optimal temperature for melting sugar.
  2. Once the spinning head is hot and spinning smoothly, turn the machine OFF.
  3. Using the provided sugar scoop, add one level scoop of floss sugar or crushed hard candy directly into the center of the spinning head. Do not overfill.
  4. Turn the machine ON again.
  5. After a few moments, fine strands of cotton candy will begin to emerge from the spinning head.
  6. Hold a paper cone horizontally above the spinning head, approximately 1-2 inches from the center. Rotate the cone slowly to collect the cotton candy webs as they form. Continue rotating and moving the cone to build a fluffy cotton candy cloud.
  7. Once the desired amount of cotton candy is collected, turn the machine OFF.
  8. Repeat the process for additional servings. Always turn the machine OFF before adding more sugar.

Recommended Candy Options

Your machine is designed to work effectively with various sugar types:

  • Floss Sugar: Specifically designed for cotton candy machines, providing optimal results.
  • Hard Candy: Crush hard candies into small pieces before adding to the spinning head. Avoid chewy or gummy candies.
  • Rock Candy: Can also be used, similar to hard candy, ensure it is crushed.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Proper cleaning ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your cotton candy machine. Always ensure the machine is unplugged and completely cool before cleaning.

  1. Removable Parts: Carefully remove the clear rim guard and the stainless steel bowl. Wash these parts with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely before reassembling or storing.
  2. Applicator Head (Spinning Head):
    • After each use, run the machine for a few minutes without sugar to burn off any remaining sugar residue.
    • DO NOT attempt to remove the applicator head from the base unit.
    • While the machine is running (and still warm), carefully spray a small amount of water onto the applicator head. The heat and spinning action will help to clean the surface.
    • Wipe any excess moisture or dissolved sugar from the applicator head with a damp cloth once the machine is off and cooled.
  3. Base Unit: Wipe the exterior of the base unit with a damp cloth. NEVER immerse the base unit in water or any other liquid.
