2. Safety Information

5. Setup

  3. Connect Pens: Plug the connectors of the two pyrography pens into the designated receptacles on the front of the main unit (Pen A and Pen B).
  4. Install Pen Holder: Attach the dual pen holder to the top of the station. Place the cleaning sponge in its designated slot on the holder.
  5. Power Connection: Ensure the power switch is in the OFF position. Plug the power cord into a suitable 230V AC grounded electrical outlet.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1. Temperature Control

The YIHUA 939-III offers a wide temperature range from 250°C to 750°C (482°F to 1382°F). Adjust the temperature knob to suit the material and desired burn effect. Lower temperatures are suitable for lighter marks, while higher temperatures create darker, deeper burns.

6.2. Dual Pen Operation

The dual-pen feature allows you to switch between two different pens (and thus two different nibs) without waiting for cooling or changing tips. Use the toggle switch on the front panel to select Pen A or Pen B.

6.3. Nib Replacement

The kit includes 20 different wire-nib tips for various effects. Always ensure the pen is cool and unplugged before changing tips.

  1. Turn off the pyrography station and unplug it from the power source.
  2. Allow the pen and nib to cool completely.
  3. Using the provided screwdriver, carefully loosen the two small screws on the pen tip holder.
  4. Use the tweezers to gently remove the old nib.
  5. Insert the new desired nib into the slots, ensuring it is seated correctly.
  6. Tighten the screws firmly with the screwdriver. Do not overtighten.

6.4. Pyrography Process

Follow these general steps for effective pyrography:

  1. Prepare the Wood: Smoothen the wood surface with sandpaper for best results.
  2. Transfer Pattern: Transfer your desired pattern onto the wood using a pencil or carbon paper.
  3. Install Nib & Power On: Select and install the appropriate pyrography pen nib. Turn on the power switch and select the desired pen (A or B) using the toggle switch.
  4. Adjust Temperature: Set the temperature control knob to the desired heat level. Allow the nib to heat up for a few minutes.
  5. Practice: Before working on your main project, practice on a scrap piece of wood to find the optimal temperature and pressure for your chosen nib and wood type.
  6. Trace the Pattern: Gently trace the pattern with the heated pyrography pen, applying consistent pressure.
  7. Turn Off: Once finished, turn off the pyrography station and allow the pens to cool in their holder.
  8. Clean Nib: Clean the pen nib on the wet sponge after use to remove carbon buildup.

  • Cleaning Nibs: Regularly clean the carbon buildup from the nibs using the wet sponge provided. This helps maintain consistent heat and prevents uneven burning.
  • Station Cleaning: Wipe the main unit with a dry, soft cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the unit in water.
  • Storage: Store the pyrography station and its accessories in a dry, safe place when not in use, away from dust and moisture. Ensure all components are cool before storing.
  • Inspect Cords: Periodically check power cords and pen cords for any signs of damage. Replace damaged cords immediately.
