2. Mark the Cutting Area: Lay the door flat on a sturdy work surface. Position the provided cutting template on the desired location on the door. Ensure the template is aligned correctly and draw the outline onto the door using a pencil. The ideal height for the bottom of the opening is typically a few inches from the floor, depending on your cat's size.

4. Prepare the Cat Door Halves: The cat door is designed with a "cuttable range" to accommodate various door thicknesses (0.8" - 1.78"). If your door is thinner than the maximum thickness, you may need to cut the inner edges of the cat door halves along the designated cutting tracks to ensure a flush fit.

5. Position and Mark Screw Holes: Place one half of the cat door into the cut opening. Using a pencil, mark the positions for the screw holes on the door.
