1. Product Overview

This manual provides instructions for the 42V AC/DC Adapter, Model HY-A02, designed for charging 37V Lithium-Ion (Li-ion) batteries. It is compatible with specific models such as HY-A02 and HYA02, providing a stable 42V DC output for efficient battery charging.

2. Package Contents

3. Safety Information

Important Safety Instructions:

• This adapter is designed for 42V output. It is NOT compatible with 24V or 29.4V versions. Using it with incompatible voltage systems may cause damage to the device or the battery.
• Ensure the adapter's barrel round plug matches your unit's input. This adapter does NOT use a 3-prong connector.
• Always verify compatibility with your specific unit before connecting. Refer to your device's specifications.
• The adapter features Over Voltage Protection (OVP), Over Current Protection (OCP), and Short Circuit Protection (SCP) to ensure safe operation.
• Operate the adapter within the specified input voltage range of 100-240VAC, 50/60Hz.
• Do not expose the adapter to water, moisture, or extreme temperatures.
• Do not disassemble or attempt to repair the adapter. Refer servicing to qualified personnel.
• Rechargeable batteries have a limited lifespan, typically 1 to 3 years. An old or dead battery may not accept a charge, which is not an indication of a faulty charger.

4. Setup

1. Inspect the Adapter: Before use, visually inspect the adapter and its cables for any signs of damage.

2. Connect Power Cord: Insert the detachable power cord into the AC input port of the adapter.
3. Plug into Wall Outlet: Plug the AC power cord into a standard 100-240VAC wall outlet.

4. Connect to Device: Insert the barrel round plug of the adapter's DC output cable into the charging port of your compatible 37V Lithium-Ion battery or device.

5. Operating Instructions

Once properly connected, the adapter will begin charging your compatible device. The adapter typically features an LED indicator light:

• Green Light: Indicates the adapter is powered on and ready, or the battery is fully charged.
• Red/Orange Light (if applicable): Indicates the battery is currently charging. (Note: This specific adapter's behavior may vary; refer to your device's battery indicator for charging status.)

Always disconnect the adapter from the device and the wall outlet when not in use or when the battery is fully charged.

6. Maintenance

• Keep the adapter clean and free from dust. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning.
• Store the adapter in a cool, dry place when not in use.
• Avoid bending or crimping the cables excessively to prevent internal damage.
• Do not expose the adapter to direct sunlight or heat sources.

7. Troubleshooting

If your device is not charging, consider the following:

• Check Connections: Ensure all cables are securely plugged into the adapter, the wall outlet, and the device.
• Verify Power Outlet: Test the wall outlet with another device to confirm it is supplying power.
• Battery Condition: Rechargeable batteries have a finite lifespan. If the battery is old or dead (typically 1-3 years), it may no longer accept a charge, regardless of the charger's functionality. This is a common issue and does not indicate a faulty charger.
• Charger Functionality: To determine if the charger is working, a voltmeter is required to measure its output voltage. If the output voltage is correct (around 42V DC), the charger is likely functional, and the issue may lie with the battery or the device being charged.
• Compatibility: Double-check that your device's voltage requirements and connector type are compatible with this 42V adapter with a barrel round plug.
