4. Setup

4.1 Unpacking

Carefully remove all packaging materials and components from the box. Retain packaging for future storage or transport if desired.

4.2 Initial Cleaning

Before first use, wash the inner pot, steam tray, measuring cup, and rice spoon with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely. Wipe the exterior of the main unit with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the main unit in water.

Place the rice cooker on a stable, flat, heat-resistant surface, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Ensure there is adequate ventilation around the unit.

5.1 Basic Rice Cooking (White Rice)

1. Measure the desired amount of rice using the provided measuring cup. One cup of uncooked rice yields approximately two cups of cooked rice. The maximum capacity is 2.5 cups of uncooked rice.
2. Rinse the rice thoroughly under cold water until the water runs clear.
3. Place the rinsed rice into the ceramic inner pot.
4. Add water according to the markings inside the inner pot. For white rice, align the water level with the corresponding line for the number of rice cups used. For example, for 1 cup of rice, fill water to the '1' mark on the 'White Rice' scale.
5. Place the inner pot into the main unit and close the lid securely.
6. Plug the power cord into a standard 120V electrical outlet.
7. Press the 'Rice' button. The indicator light for 'Rice' will illuminate, and the cooker will begin the cooking cycle.
8. Once cooking is complete, the cooker will automatically switch to 'Keep Warm' mode. It is recommended to let the rice rest for 10-15 minutes in 'Keep Warm' mode before serving for optimal texture.
9. Use the provided rice spoon to fluff and serve the rice.

5.2 Using the Pre-set Timer

The 12-hour delay timer allows you to prepare ingredients in advance and have your meal ready at a specific time.

1. Prepare your ingredients (rice, water, etc.) and place them in the inner pot as described in Section 5.1.
2. Close the lid and plug in the cooker.
3. Press the 'Pre-set' button. The indicator light will flash.
4. Repeatedly press the 'Pre-set' button to cycle through the delay times (2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 hours). Select your desired delay time.
5. After selecting the delay time, press the desired cooking function button (e.g., 'Rice', 'Brown Rice', 'Soup/Congee'). The selected function's indicator light will illuminate along with the 'Pre-set' light.
6. The cooker will start cooking automatically after the set delay time has elapsed.

5.3 Other Cooking Functions

The TLOG Mini Rice Cooker offers multiple cooking modes:

• Brown Rice: For cooking brown rice. Follow the water level markings for 'Brown Rice' inside the inner pot.
• Soup/Congee: For preparing soups, stews, or congee. Add ingredients and water, then select this function.
• Keep Warm: Automatically activates after cooking. Can also be manually selected to keep food warm for up to 10 hours. Press 'Cancel' to exit 'Keep Warm' mode.
• Yogurt: For making homemade yogurt. Ensure milk is heated to 180°F (82°C) and cooled to 110°F (43°C) before adding starter culture and placing in the cooker.

5.4 Steaming Function

The included 304 stainless steel steam tray allows you to steam vegetables, seafood, or poultry while cooking rice or separately.

1. Add water to the inner pot (ensure water level is below the steam tray).
2. Place desired food items on the steam tray.
3. Carefully place the steam tray into the inner pot.
4. Close the lid and select a cooking function (e.g., 'Rice' or 'Soup/Congee') or simply use the 'Soup/Congee' function for steaming only.
5. Monitor cooking progress. Use the provided clamp to safely remove the hot steam tray.
