Setup
- Unpacking: Carefully remove the level from its packaging. Inspect for any signs of damage.
- Initial Inspection: Verify that all three spirit vials (horizontal, vertical, 45-degree) are intact and the bubbles move freely.
- Familiarization: Identify the metric and imperial scales along the edge, the magnetic strip, the handle, and the rubber end caps.
Operating Instructions
The Mecurate SL level is designed for precise measurement of horizontal, vertical, and 45-degree angles.
1. Horizontal Measurement
To check if a surface is perfectly level:
- Place the bottom edge of the level flat on the surface you wish to measure.
- Observe the bubble in the horizontal vial (the longest vial).
- For a level surface, the bubble should be centered precisely between the two indicator lines.
2. Vertical Measurement
To check if a surface is perfectly plumb (vertical):
- Place one of the side edges of the level against the vertical surface.
- Observe the bubble in the vertical vial.
- For a plumb surface, the bubble should be centered precisely between the two indicator lines.
3. 45-Degree Measurement
To check for a 45-degree angle:
- Position the level against the surface at the desired 45-degree angle.
- Observe the bubble in the 45-degree vial.
- For an accurate 45-degree angle, the bubble should be centered precisely between the two indicator lines.

Using the Magnetic Edge
The strong magnetic edge allows the level to adhere to metal surfaces, providing hands-free operation for tasks such as installing metal studs or pipes.
Using the Ruler Scale
The integrated metric and imperial scales can be used for quick measurements and marking distances directly on surfaces.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the level clean with a soft, damp cloth after each use. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish or vial markings.
- Storage: Store the level in a dry place, away from extreme temperatures. Utilize the hanging hole for convenient and safe storage.
- Protection: The TPR rubber end caps are designed to absorb impacts. However, avoid dropping the level from significant heights to maintain its accuracy.
- Accuracy Check: Periodically check the accuracy of the vials. Place the level on a flat surface, note the bubble position, rotate the level 180 degrees, and place it in the exact same spot. The bubble should return to the same position. If not, the level may require professional calibration or replacement.

Troubleshooting
- Inaccurate Readings: Ensure the level is placed firmly and evenly on the surface. Check for debris on the surface or the level's edge. Verify the level's calibration as described in the Maintenance section.
- Bubble Not Moving Freely: This could indicate damage to the vial or extreme temperature changes. Allow the level to acclimate to room temperature. If the issue persists, the vial may be damaged.
- Level Not Sticking to Metal: Ensure the metal surface is clean and free of rust or paint that could interfere with the magnetic connection.
