Setup

  3. Water Tank Installation: Remove the water tank from the back of the machine. Fill it with fresh, cold water up to the MAX line. Reinsert the water tank securely into its position.
  4. Initial Rinse: Before first use, perform an initial rinse cycle. Fill the water tank, place a cup under the brew head, and press the hot water button. Allow water to flow through to clean internal components. Repeat this process for the steam wand by turning the steam knob.

Operating Instructions

Brewing Espresso

  1. Prepare Portafilter: Insert the desired filter basket (single or double shot) into the portafilter. Fill the filter basket with finely ground espresso coffee.
  2. Tamp Coffee: Use the tamper to firmly press the coffee grounds. Ensure an even and level surface.
  3. Attach Portafilter: Align the portafilter with the 'INSERT' position on the brew head. Insert and twist firmly to the 'LOCK' position.
  4. Place Cup(s): Place one or two espresso cups on the drip tray beneath the portafilter spouts.
  5. Select Brew: Press the '1-Cup' button for a single espresso shot or the '2-Cup' button for a double espresso shot on the touchscreen. The machine will begin brewing.
  6. Monitor Brewing: The touchscreen displays a timer indicating the brewing duration. Optimal extraction typically occurs within 20-30 seconds.

Using the Steam Wand

  1. Prepare Milk: Fill a stainless steel frothing pitcher with cold milk (dairy or non-dairy) to just below the spout.
  2. Activate Steam: Press the 'Steam' button on the touchscreen. The machine will heat up to steaming temperature.
  3. Purge Steam Wand: Once the steam indicator light is steady, place an empty cup under the steam wand. Turn the steam control knob on the side of the machine to release any condensed water until only steam is emitted. Turn the knob off.
  4. Froth Milk: Immerse the steam wand tip just below the surface of the milk in the pitcher. Turn the steam control knob to activate steam. Move the pitcher up and down gently to create foam.
  5. Stop Steaming: Once the milk reaches the desired temperature and texture, turn the steam control knob off. Remove the pitcher.
  6. Clean Wand: Immediately wipe the steam wand with a damp cloth to prevent milk residue from drying. Purge the wand briefly again to clear any internal milk.

Hot Water Dispensing

To dispense hot water for tea or Americanos, place a cup under the steam wand. Press the 'Hot Water' button on the touchscreen. Turn the steam control knob to release hot water. Turn the knob off when finished.

Maintenance

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and longevity of your espresso machine.

  • Drip Tray: Empty and clean the drip tray regularly. It is removable for easy access.
  • Water Tank: Clean the water tank periodically with mild detergent and rinse thoroughly.
  • Portafilter and Filter Baskets: After each use, remove spent coffee grounds and rinse the portafilter and filter baskets under hot water.
  • Steam Wand: Always wipe the steam wand immediately after use to prevent milk residue buildup. Purge briefly to clear internal passages.
  • Descaling: Depending on water hardness and frequency of use, descaling may be required every 2-3 months. Refer to the full product manual for detailed descaling instructions using a suitable descaling solution.
