Introduction

This manual provides instructions for the SZHKHXD replacement remote control, compatible with various Etec and Ario TV models including 32E800, 40E750, 40E700, 32E700, 32A66, 32E40, 48E700LC, 32EF20, HC3269, FC4669, and RM188. This remote is designed as a direct functional replacement for your original TV remote.

Setup

Battery Installation

The remote control requires 2 AAA batteries (not included). Follow these steps to install the batteries:

1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the remote control.
2. Slide the battery compartment cover downwards or in the direction indicated by an arrow to open it.
3. Insert two AAA batteries, ensuring the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals align correctly with the markings inside the compartment.
4. Slide the battery compartment cover back into place until it clicks securely.

Once batteries are installed, the remote is ready for use. No programming is typically required for this replacement remote.

Operating Instructions

This remote control is designed to function identically to your original TV remote. Simply point the remote at your television and press the desired button.

Key Functions Overview

• Power Button (Red): Turns the TV on or off.
• Number Buttons (0-9): Directly select channels.
• VOL +/-: Adjusts the volume up or down.
• CH +/-: Changes the channel up or down.
• MUTE: Mutes or unmutes the TV sound.
• MENU: Accesses the TV's main menu.
• Navigation Buttons (Up, Down, Left, Right, ENTER): Navigate through menus and confirm selections.
• EXIT: Exits the current menu or screen.
• INPUT/SOURCE: Changes the input source (HDMI, AV, etc.).
• DISPLAY: Shows current channel information.
• GUIDE: Opens the electronic program guide (if supported by TV).
• LAST: Returns to the previously viewed channel.
• ASPECT: Adjusts the screen aspect ratio.
• SLEEP: Sets a sleep timer.
• PICTURE: Accesses picture settings.
• AUDIO/MTS: Adjusts audio settings or selects Multi-channel Television Sound.

Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your remote control, follow these maintenance guidelines:

• Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the surface of the remote. For stubborn dirt, slightly dampen the cloth with water or a mild, non-abrasive cleaner. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
• Battery Replacement: Replace batteries when the remote's response becomes sluggish or it stops working. Always replace both batteries at the same time with new ones of the same type (AAA).
• Storage: Store the remote in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and high humidity.
• Avoid Drops: Protect the remote from physical impact. Dropping it can damage internal components.
• Liquid Exposure: Keep the remote away from liquids. If it gets wet, remove batteries immediately and allow it to dry completely before reinserting them.

Troubleshooting

• Remote Not Responding:
  • Check if the batteries are inserted correctly with the correct polarity (+/-).
  • Replace old batteries with new AAA batteries.
  • Ensure there are no obstructions between the remote control and the TV's infrared sensor.
  • Make sure you are within the effective range of the TV's IR sensor.
• Specific Buttons Not Working:
  • Clean the button area with a soft, dry cloth to remove any debris that might be preventing proper contact.
  • If only a few buttons are unresponsive after battery replacement, the remote might be faulty and require replacement.
• Interference:
  • Bright lights, especially fluorescent lights, can sometimes interfere with IR signals. Try using the remote in different lighting conditions.
