  1. Step 1: Confirm Learn Button Color

Start with your garage door closed. Locate the "Learn" button on your garage door opener motor unit. Note its color (Purple, Yellow, Red/Orange, or Green). This color determines the frequency and programming method.

  2. Step 2: Programming Initiation

On the OTLEER remote, press and hold buttons II and III simultaneously for approximately 1 second. The blue LED light on the remote will illuminate. Release both buttons. (If no action is taken for 1 minute after this step, the remote will exit programming mode.)

  3. Step 3: Choose Code Type

Select one of the three buttons (I, II, or III) on the remote that you wish to program for your garage door. Press this selected button 1 to 4 times according to the color of your garage door opener's learn button:

    • 1 Time: For Yellow Learn Button (LiftMaster/Chamberlain/Craftsman 310/315/390MHz, 2011-Current)
    • 2 Times: For Purple Learn Button (LiftMaster/Chamberlain/Craftsman 315MHz, 2005-2014)
    • 3 Times: For Red/Orange Learn Button (LiftMaster/Chamberlain/Craftsman 390MHz, 1997-2005)
    • 4 Times: For Green Learn Button (LiftMaster/Chamberlain/Craftsman 390MHz, 1993-1996)

After pressing the selected button the correct number of times, press any other button on the remote once to confirm your selection.

  4. Step 4: Garage Door Opener Learning

On your garage door opener motor unit, press and release its "Learn" button. The LED next to the learn button on the opener will stay on for 30 seconds, indicating that the garage motor is in a learning state.

  5. Step 5: Programming Complete

Within the 30-second learning window, press and hold the button on your OTLEER remote that you chose in Step 3. Continue holding until the light bulb on the garage motor flashes or you hear two clicks. This indicates that the programming is successful. Test the remote by pressing the programmed button.

  1. Solution 1: Garage Door Position. Ensure your garage door is fully closed before attempting to program the remote. Programming may fail if the door is open.

  2. Solution 2: Try Another Button. If one button fails to program, try programming a different button (I, II, or III) on the remote.

  3. Solution 3: Proximity to Opener. Move closer to your garage door opener motor unit when programming the remote to ensure a strong signal.

  4. Solution 4: Clear Opener Memory. The memory of your garage door opener might be full. Consult your opener's manual for instructions on how to clear its memory, then attempt programming again.

  5. Solution 5: Battery Check. If the remote's LED does not light up or is dim, the battery may need replacement. The remote uses a CR2032 lithium battery.
