3. Setup Instructions

3.1. Connecting the Transmitting Base to Your TV

The transmitting base connects to your TV's audio output. The SEREONIC Wireless TV Speaker system supports multiple connection types:

  1. Optical Digital Audio Output: Use the provided Optical Cable. Connect one end to the TV's Optical Out port and the other end to the Optical In port on the transmitting base. This is the recommended connection for most modern TVs, especially for streaming services. Ensure your TV's audio output format is set to PCM audio for optimal compatibility.
  2. 3.5mm Audio Output (Headphone Jack): Use the provided 3.5mm to RCA cable. Connect the 3.5mm end to your TV's headphone jack and the RCA ends to the RCA In ports on the transmitting base.
  3. RCA Audio Output (Red/White Ports): Use the provided 3.5mm to RCA cable and the RCA splitter if needed. Connect the RCA ends to your TV's Audio Out ports (usually red and white) and the 3.5mm end to the transmitting base, or use the RCA splitter to connect directly to the base's RCA In ports.
  4. HDMI Connection: For TVs that only offer HDMI audio output, an external HDMI audio converter (sold separately) is required. Connect the HDMI converter to your TV, then use one of the above methods (Optical, 3.5mm, or RCA) to connect the converter to the SEREONIC transmitting base.

3.2. Powering the Transmitting Base

Connect the power adapter to the transmitting base and plug it into a standard wall outlet. The 'POWER' indicator light on the base will illuminate.

3.3. Initial Speaker Charging

Place the wireless speaker onto the transmitting base. Ensure the speaker is correctly seated for charging. The 'LOW BAT/CHARGING' indicator light on the speaker will show its charging status. A full charge takes approximately 3 hours and provides up to 8 hours of continuous operation.

4.2. Tone Adjustment

On the back of the speaker, there is a switch for tone adjustment (Hi-Med-Lo). Adjust this switch to find the audio clarity that best suits your preference, particularly for dialogue enhancement.

4.3. Portable Use

Once charged, the speaker can be removed from its base and carried up to 100 feet away from the transmitting base. This allows you to listen to your TV programs in various rooms of your home or even outdoors, as long as it remains within range of the base.

6. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your SEREONIC Wireless TV Speakers, follow these maintenance guidelines:

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the speaker and transmitting base. Avoid using liquid cleaners, aerosols, or solvents, as these may damage the device.
  • Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the speaker and base in a cool, dry place.
  • Battery Care: For best battery life, avoid fully discharging the speaker frequently. Recharge the speaker when the 'LOW BAT' indicator illuminates.
  • Environmental Conditions: Do not expose the device to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, or high humidity. The speaker is not waterproof.

7. Troubleshooting

7.1. No Sound from Speaker

  • Check Power: Ensure both the transmitting base and the speaker are powered on and charged.
  • Verify Connections: Confirm that the audio cable (Optical, 3.5mm, or RCA) is securely connected between your TV and the transmitting base.
  • TV Audio Settings: Access your TV's audio settings menu. Ensure the correct audio output is selected (e.g., Optical Out, External Speakers) and that the format is set to PCM audio if using the optical connection.
  • Speaker Volume: Increase the volume on the wireless speaker using its control knob.
  • TV Volume: Ensure your TV's internal volume is not muted or set too low, as some TVs require a certain output level for external devices.

7.2. Audio Delay (Latency)

The SEREONIC system uses RF technology designed for near-zero audio latency. If you experience delay:

  • Check for Interference: Ensure the transmitting base and speaker are not placed near other wireless devices that might cause interference.
  • Re-pair: Briefly power off both the base and speaker, then power them back on to re-establish the connection.

7.3. Speaker Not Charging

  • Proper Placement: Ensure the speaker is correctly seated on the charging contacts of the transmitting base.
  • Power Adapter: Verify the power adapter is securely connected to both the base and a working wall outlet.
  • Charging Indicator: Check if the 'LOW BAT/CHARGING' indicator light on the speaker is illuminated, indicating charging.

7.4. Compatibility with Streaming Channels (Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime)

Yes, the TV Soundbox works with built-in TV applications like Hulu, Netflix, etc. It must be connected via the optical digital audio-out port. Remember to set your TV audio format to PCM audio.
