Setup
Power Connection
- Connect the supplied USB power cable to the DC 5V input on the rear panel of the Zen Air Phono.
- Connect the other end of the USB power cable to a suitable 5V USB power source (e.g., a USB wall adapter, not included).
Turntable Connection
- Connect your turntable's RCA output cables to the Input RCA jacks (Red for Right channel, White for Left channel) on the rear panel of the Zen Air Phono.
- Connect your turntable's ground wire to the Ground terminal on the rear panel of the Zen Air Phono. Ensure a secure connection to minimize hum.
Amplifier Connection
- Connect the Output RCA jacks (Red for Right channel, White for Left channel) on the rear panel of the Zen Air Phono to an available line-level input on your amplifier or receiver (e.g., AUX, CD, Tuner input). Do not connect to your amplifier's dedicated Phono input, as this unit already provides the necessary phono equalization.
Operating Instructions
MM/MC Cartridge Selection
- Locate the MM/MC switch on the rear panel of the Zen Air Phono.
- Set the switch to MM for Moving Magnet cartridges or MC for Moving Coil cartridges. This setting must match the type of cartridge installed on your turntable.
- The corresponding LED indicator (MM or MC) on the front panel will illuminate to confirm your selection.
Subsonic Filter
- The Subsonic Filter button is located on the front panel.
- Press the button to activate the subsonic filter. This feature helps to remove low-frequency rumble caused by warped records without negatively impacting the bass response of your music.
- Press the button again to deactivate the subsonic filter.
Power On/Off
- Press the Power button on the front panel to turn the unit on or off.
Troubleshooting
No Sound
- Check all RCA cable connections between the turntable, Zen Air Phono, and your amplifier.
- Ensure the Zen Air Phono is powered on and its power LED is illuminated.
- Verify that the MM/MC switch setting on the rear panel correctly matches your turntable's cartridge type.
- Confirm your amplifier or receiver is set to the correct input source where the Zen Air Phono is connected.
Hum or Buzzing Noise
- Ensure the ground wire from your turntable is securely connected to the Ground terminal on the Zen Air Phono.

- Try using a different 5V USB power source or adapter, as some power supplies can introduce noise.
- Relocate the Zen Air Phono away from other electronic devices that may cause electromagnetic interference.
Distorted Sound
- Double-check that the MM/MC switch setting is correct for your cartridge type. An incorrect setting can lead to significant distortion.
