Setup and Fitting

Achieving the correct helmet fit is crucial for safety and comfort. Follow these steps to ensure your TORC T9 helmet fits properly:

  1. Measure Your Head: Use a flexible measuring tape to measure the circumference of your head. Wrap the tape around the fullest part of your head, approximately half an inch above your eyebrows and ears. This measurement will help you select the correct shell size.
  2. Consult the Size Chart: Refer to the size chart below to find the recommended helmet size based on your head measurement.
  3. Try On the Helmet:
    • The helmet should feel snug all around your head, with no pressure points.
    • The cheek pads should press firmly against your cheeks.
    • The helmet should not move freely when you shake your head from side to side or up and down.
    • The top of the eye port should be just above your eyebrows, allowing for clear vision.
  4. Secure the Chin Strap: Fasten the D-ring chin strap securely. It should be tight enough that you cannot pull the helmet off your head when pulling upwards from the rear.

Maintenance

Proper maintenance will extend the life of your helmet and ensure its protective capabilities.

  • Cleaning the Shell: Use a soft cloth and mild soap with water to clean the exterior shell. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents, as they can damage the finish and protective coatings.
  • Cleaning the Liner: The removable liner can be hand-washed with mild soap and water. Allow it to air dry completely before reinserting into the helmet. Do not machine wash or tumble dry.
  • Cleaning the Face Shield: Clean the face shield with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and allow to air dry. Do not use abrasive materials or chemical cleaners that could scratch or damage the anti-fog/anti-scratch coatings.
  • Storage: Store your helmet in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Use a helmet bag to protect it from dust and scratches.
