4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Basic Controls
Turn on the transmitter first, then the vehicle. Use the steering wheel on the transmitter to control direction (left/right) and the trigger for throttle (forward/reverse). Familiarize yourself with the controls in an open, safe area.
4.2 High/Low Transmission
The TRX-4 features a two-speed transmission. Use the designated switch on your TQi transmitter to shift between high gear for speed and low gear for maximum torque and crawling capability. This allows for versatile performance across different terrains.
4.3 Remote Locking Differentials
For enhanced traction on challenging obstacles, the TRX-4 is equipped with remote locking front and rear differentials. Engage the differential lock feature via your TQi transmitter when navigating extreme terrain to ensure all wheels receive power, improving climbing and obstacle traversal.
5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your TRX-4. After each use, inspect the vehicle for any loose screws, damaged parts, or debris accumulation. Clean the chassis and body with a soft brush or compressed air. Avoid using harsh chemicals. Periodically check the gears for wear and ensure all moving parts are free of obstruction. Lubricate moving components as recommended in the full owner's manual.
6. Troubleshooting
6.1 Loss of Power or Intermittent Operation
- Check battery charge level.
- Ensure all electrical connections are secure and free of corrosion.
- Verify transmitter batteries are fresh and correctly installed.
- Inspect the motor and ESC for signs of overheating or damage.
6.2 Steering Issues
- Check for obstructions in the steering linkage.
- Ensure the steering servo is functioning correctly and securely mounted.
- Verify steering trim settings on the transmitter.
6.3 Unusual Noises or Gear Problems
- Inspect the spur gear and motor gear for damage or debris.
- Ensure proper gear mesh between the motor pinion and spur gear.
- Check differentials for proper function and lubrication.
