Maintenance

Cleaning:

To clean the remote control, use a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, slightly dampen the cloth with water or a mild, non-abrasive cleaner. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials, as these can damage the remote's surface or internal components.

Battery Replacement:

Replace batteries when the remote control's response becomes sluggish or stops working. Always replace both batteries at the same time with new 1.5V AAA alkaline batteries. Do not mix old and new batteries, or different types of batteries.

Storage:

When not in use for extended periods, it is recommended to remove the batteries to prevent leakage, which could damage the remote control. Store the remote in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

Troubleshooting

  • Remote control is not responding:
    • Ensure batteries are installed correctly with the correct polarity.
    • Replace old batteries with new ones.
    • Check for any obstructions between the remote control and the TV's infrared receiver.
    • Ensure you are within the effective operating range (up to 10 meters).
  • Specific buttons (e.g., Netflix, Rakuten TV) are not working:
    • These dedicated buttons will only function if your specific Philips TV model supports and has the corresponding application installed. If your original TV remote did not have these buttons, or your TV does not support these apps, the buttons on this replacement remote may not function.
