Setup

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Inspect the kettle and power supply stand for any damage. Retain packaging for future transport or storage.

  2. Battery Installation: Insert one or two fully charged Makita 40V Max XGT batteries into the designated slots on the power supply stand. Ensure they click securely into place. The kettle can also be powered by a PDC1200 portable power pack (not included).

  3. Filling the Kettle: Open the lid by pressing the lid lock button. Fill the kettle with fresh water, observing the internal water level markings. Do not exceed the 0.8L MAX line. Close the lid securely until it clicks.

  4. Placing Kettle on Stand: Place the filled kettle onto the power supply stand, ensuring it is seated correctly.

Operating Instructions

  1. Power On: Press the power switch located on the front of the power supply stand. An LED light will indicate that the kettle is active and beginning to heat.

  2. Boiling Process: The kettle will automatically begin heating the water. Once the water reaches boiling point, the kettle will automatically shut off and emit a warning buzzer. The LED light will also change or turn off to indicate completion. Boiling 0.8 liters of water takes approximately 8 minutes (at 23°C water temperature) or 9 minutes (at 10°C water temperature).
  3. Pouring Water: To pour, lift the kettle from the stand. Press the anti-spill lock button on the lid while tilting the kettle to dispense water. This mechanism helps prevent accidental spills.

  4. Transporting the Kettle: The power supply stand features a carrying handle for easy transport of the entire unit, including the kettle and batteries.

Maintenance

  1. Cleaning the Kettle: The removable lid allows for easy access to the interior for cleaning. The kettle also has a removable filter for filtering dust and limescale. Clean regularly with a soft, damp cloth.
  2. Product Care: Do not put the kettle or power supply stand in a dishwasher. Hand wash only.
  3. Descaling: Periodically descale the kettle to maintain efficiency, especially in hard water areas. Use a suitable descaling solution according to the manufacturer's instructions, or a mixture of white vinegar and water.

Troubleshooting

  • Kettle does not turn on:

    • Check if the power switch is pressed.
  • Water is not boiling:
    • Confirm the kettle is filled above the minimum water level.
    • Ensure the lid is securely closed.
  • Water leaks during pouring:
    • Ensure the anti-spill lock button is pressed firmly while pouring.
    • Check that the lid is properly aligned and sealed.
  • Kettle stops boiling prematurely:
    • This may indicate the boil-dry protection has activated due to insufficient water. Refill the kettle and restart.
    • Ensure the kettle or stand was not lifted during the boiling cycle.
