4. Setup

4.1. Transmitter Overview

4.2. Transmitter Connections

  1. Connect Power: Plug the NT 12-5 CW power supply into the 'DC In' port on the rear of the transmitter and then into a power outlet.
  2. Connect Audio Input: Use XLR or 1/4-inch cables to connect your audio source (e.g., mixing console, audio interface) to the 'BAL AF In' (Left/Mono, Right Input) ports on the transmitter. For mono operation, use the Left/Mono input.
  3. Attach Antenna: Screw the antenna securely into the 'Antenna' connector on the rear of the transmitter.

4.3. Receiver Battery Installation

  1. Open the battery compartment on the back of the XSW IEM EK Receiver.
  2. Insert the two supplied AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  3. Close the battery compartment securely.

4.4. Earphone Connection

Plug the IE 4 In-Ear Headphones (or your preferred 3.5mm earphones) into the 'PHONES' jack on the top of the receiver.

4.5. System Pairing (Sync)

To establish a wireless connection between the transmitter and receiver, they must be synced to the same frequency.

  1. Power on both the transmitter and the receiver.
  2. On the transmitter, select a desired frequency group and channel using the navigation buttons.
  3. Press the 'SYNC' button on the transmitter. The IR (Infrared) window on the transmitter will flash.
  4. Hold the receiver with its IR window facing the transmitter's IR window, approximately 10-20 cm (4-8 inches) apart.
  5. The receiver will automatically sync to the transmitter's frequency. A successful sync will be indicated on both displays.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Transmitter Controls

  1. Power On/Off: Press and hold the power button on the right side of the front panel.
  2. Volume Control: Adjust the 'VOLUME' knob for the headphone output on the transmitter.
  3. Frequency Selection: Use the 'UP' and 'DOWN' arrow buttons to navigate through frequency groups and channels. Press 'SET' to confirm selections.
  4. Audio Gain: Adjust the audio input gain via the menu to prevent clipping or ensure sufficient signal strength.

5.2. Receiver Controls

  1. Power On/Off & Volume: The 'VOLUME' knob on the top of the receiver also functions as the power switch. Rotate clockwise to turn on and increase volume; rotate counter-clockwise to decrease volume and turn off.
  2. Audio Modes: The receiver supports flexible audio modes, including stereo and focus mode. These can be configured via the receiver's menu (accessed by buttons under the battery cover).
  3. EQ and Limiter: Advanced features such as EQ and limiter settings are available through the receiver's menu to customize your personal mix.

  • Clean the devices only with a soft, dry cloth.
