Setup and Assembly

The Bstrip DIY Plant Shelf is designed for versatile assembly, allowing for multiple configurations to suit your space and plant needs. Follow these general steps for assembly:

1. Frame Assembly: Connect the vertical poles and secure the wire shelves at your desired heights. The shelves are adjustable, allowing you to customize the spacing between layers.
2. Base Installation: Choose between the 8 industrial wheels for mobility or the flat feet for stationary placement. Attach them securely to the bottom of the frame. Four of the wheels include locking mechanisms for stability.
3. Grow Light Installation: Attach the grow lights to the underside of each shelf using the provided chains or zip ties. Ensure the lights are evenly spaced and positioned directly above where plants will be placed.
4. Wiring: Connect the grow lights using the provided connecting cords and extension adapters. Route the power cords safely to an electrical outlet.
5. Water Protection: Place the PP mats on each wire shelf to catch any excess water, protecting the lights and the floor.

Operating Instructions

Grow Lights

• The 8-pack T8 full spectrum lamps provide light that mimics natural sunlight, suitable for all stages of plant growth (seed starting, growing, flowering).
• Each light consumes 24 watts and delivers 206.5µmol/㎡/s at an 8-inch distance.
• Use the inline button switch on the power cord to turn the lights ON/OFF. Consider using an external timer for automated light cycles.
• Adjust the height of the grow lights using the chains or zip ties to maintain optimal distance from your plants. For seedlings, a distance of 3-6 inches is generally recommended.

Shelf Adjustment and Mobility

• The wire shelves can be repositioned along the vertical poles to accommodate plants of varying heights.
• If using the industrial wheels, the plant shelf can be easily moved. Engage the locks on four of the wheels to secure the shelf in place.
• The included PP mats should be placed on each shelf to catch any excess water, protecting the lights and the floor.

Maintenance

• Cleaning: Regularly wipe down the shelves, grow lights, and frame with a soft, damp cloth. Ensure lights are unplugged before cleaning.
• PP Mats: Clean the PP mats regularly to remove accumulated water and soil, preventing mold and mildew growth.
• Inspection: Periodically check all connections, screws, and chains to ensure they are secure. Inspect power cords for any signs of damage.
• Light Replacement: While LED lights have a long lifespan, if a light fails, replace it with a compatible T8 full spectrum grow light.

Troubleshooting

• Lights Not Turning On:

  • Verify the button switch is in the "ON" position.
  • Test the outlet with another device to confirm it has power.
• Plants Not Growing Well:
