4. Setup Guide
4.1 Physical Connections
Before powering on your HIMEDIA Q20, connect all necessary cables.
- HDMI Connection: Connect one end of an HDMI cable to the HDMI OUT port on the Q20 and the other end to an HDMI IN port on your TV or display.
- Network Connection (Optional): For wired internet access, connect an Ethernet cable from your router to the LAN port on the Q20. Alternatively, you can use Wi-Fi after initial setup.
- Audio Connections (Optional):
- For digital audio, connect an optical cable to the Optical S/PDIF port or a coaxial cable to the Coaxial port.
- For analog audio, use RCA cables to connect the L/R Stereo ports to your audio system.
- USB Devices (Optional): Connect USB storage devices, keyboards, or mice to the USB 2.0 ports.
- Power Connection: Connect the power adapter to the DC 12V input port on the Q20, then plug the adapter into a power outlet.

4.2 Hard Drive Installation (Optional)
The HIMEDIA Q20 supports a 3.5-inch SATA hard drive for internal storage.
- Ensure the Q20 is powered off and unplugged.
- Locate the hard drive bay on the side of the device.
- Gently pull out the hard drive tray.
- Mount your 3.5-inch SATA hard drive onto the tray, ensuring it is securely fastened (no tools required).
- Slide the tray with the hard drive back into the bay until it clicks into place.

4.3 Initial Power On
After all connections are made:
- Turn on your TV and select the correct HDMI input source.
- Press the power button on the HIMEDIA Q20 or its remote control.
- The device will boot up, and you should see the HIMEDIA logo followed by the Android home screen.
- Follow any on-screen prompts for initial setup, such as language selection and network configuration (if not using wired Ethernet).
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 User Interface Navigation
Navigate the Android interface using the provided remote control. The directional buttons allow you to move between icons and menus, while the OK button selects items. The Back button returns to the previous screen, and the Home button takes you to the main home screen.
5.2 Media Playback
The HIMEDIA Q20 is designed for versatile media playback.
- Accessing Media: Use the built-in file manager or pre-installed media player applications (e.g., Kodi) to browse content on your internal hard drive, connected USB drives, or network shares (DLNA/SMB).
- Supported Formats: The device supports a wide range of video (4K, HDR10, 3D, H.265/HEVC, MKV, AVI, MP4, etc.) and audio (DTS-HD, Dolby TrueHD, etc.) formats.
- Playback Controls: Standard playback controls (play, pause, stop, fast forward, rewind) are available via the remote control.
5.3 Network Connectivity
- Wi-Fi: Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi. Select your network from the list and enter the password.
- Ethernet: If an Ethernet cable is connected, the device should automatically establish a wired network connection.
5.4 Bluetooth Pairing
To pair Bluetooth devices like headphones, speakers, or game controllers:
- Go to Settings > Connected Devices > Pair new device.
- Put your Bluetooth device into pairing mode.
