2. Safety Information

3. Product Overview
The Ampper Power Distribution Block features a nickel-plated brass busbar mounted on a heavy-duty ABS base. It includes two #10 (M5) studs for main power connections and five #8 (M4) terminal screws for connecting multiple accessory wires.

5. Setup and Installation
- Choose a Mounting Location: Select a secure, dry, and easily accessible location for the power distribution block. Ensure it is protected from physical damage and environmental elements.
- Mark Mounting Points: Use the distribution block as a template to mark the two mounting screw holes on your chosen surface.
- Drill Pilot Holes: Drill appropriate pilot holes for the mounting screws.
- Secure the Block: Fasten the power distribution block to the surface using suitable screws. The base is designed for mechanical strength and insulation.
- Prepare Wires: Strip the insulation from the ends of the wires to be connected. Ensure the exposed wire length is appropriate for the terminal type.
- Connect Main Power: Connect the main positive or negative power cable to one of the #10 (M5) studs. Secure it with the provided nut.
- Connect Accessory Wires: Connect individual accessory wires to the #8 (M4) terminal screws. Ensure each wire is securely fastened.

6. Operating Instructions
Once installed and all wires are securely connected, the Ampper Power Distribution Block operates passively by providing a common connection point for electrical circuits. It does not require active operation.
- Ensure all connections are tight and free from corrosion.
- Verify that the total current drawn through the block does not exceed 120A.
- Regularly inspect the block and connections for any signs of wear, damage, or overheating.
7. Maintenance
- Periodic Inspection: Annually, or more frequently in harsh environments, inspect all connections for tightness and corrosion. Loose connections can cause resistance, leading to heat buildup and potential failure.
- Cleaning: Keep the distribution block clean and free of dust, dirt, and moisture. Use a dry, non-abrasive cloth for cleaning. Do not use solvents or harsh chemicals.
- Corrosion Prevention: If operating in a marine or high-humidity environment, consider applying a dielectric grease to the terminals after ensuring connections are tight, to help prevent corrosion.
8. Troubleshooting
- No Power to Connected Devices:
- Check the main power source connection to the M5 studs.
- Verify that individual accessory wires are securely connected to the M4 terminal screws.
- Inspect for any blown fuses or tripped circuit breakers in the circuit leading to or from the distribution block.
- Ensure the main power source is active and providing the correct voltage.
- Overheating of the Block or Wires:
- Immediately disconnect power.
- Check all connections for tightness. Loose connections can generate heat.
- Verify that the total current draw does not exceed the maximum continuous amperage of 120A. Reduce load if necessary.
- Ensure appropriate wire gauges are used for the current being carried.
- Corrosion on Terminals:
- Disconnect power.
- Carefully clean corrosion from terminals using a wire brush or fine-grit sandpaper.
- Apply a corrosion inhibitor or dielectric grease to prevent future buildup.
