2. Safety Information
Always prioritize safety when working with electrical components. Failure to follow safety guidelines can result in serious injury or damage to equipment.
- Disconnect Power: Before beginning any installation or maintenance, ensure the golf cart's main power switch is in the "OFF" or "TOW" position and the battery pack is disconnected.
- Wear Protective Gear: Use appropriate personal protective equipment, including safety glasses and gloves.
- Consult a Professional: If you are unsure about any step, consult a qualified golf cart technician.
- Avoid Short Circuits: Do not allow tools or metal objects to bridge electrical terminals.
- Ventilation: Ensure adequate ventilation when working with batteries.
3. Setup and Installation
Follow these steps for proper installation of the electric motor. Refer to your golf cart's service manual for specific vehicle disassembly and reassembly procedures.

- Disconnect Power Connections: Carefully disconnect all power connections from the existing motor. Ensure the main battery pack is disconnected before proceeding.
- Remove Wires and Bolts: Unscrew the 4 bolts securing the motor and carefully remove all associated wiring. Label wires if necessary to ensure correct reattachment.
- Slide Motor Away: Use a screwdriver or appropriate tool to gently slide the old motor away from its mounting flange.
- Remove Piston Ring: If present, carefully pull the piston ring off using pointed-nose pliers.
- Pull Out Speed Sensor Wires: Disconnect and pull out any speed sensor wires from the motor.
- Install New Motor: Apply a suitable lubricant or grease to the splines of the new motor. Carefully align and install the new motor, ensuring all connections are secure and bolts are tightened to manufacturer specifications. Reconnect speed sensor wires and power connections in reverse order of removal.

4. Operating Instructions
Once the motor is correctly installed and all connections are secure, the golf cart can be operated as usual. Ensure the run/tow switch is in the "RUN" position before attempting to operate the vehicle.
- Initial Test: After installation, perform a low-speed test in a safe, open area to confirm proper function.
- Monitor Performance: Pay attention to any unusual noises, vibrations, or performance issues during operation.
- Battery Charge: Ensure your 36V battery system is adequately charged for optimal motor performance.
5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance helps ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your electric motor.
- Inspect Connections: Periodically check all electrical connections for tightness and corrosion. Clean terminals as needed.
- Motor Cleanliness: Keep the motor free from excessive dirt, debris, and moisture.
- Brush Inspection (if applicable): If your motor design allows, inspect motor brushes for wear and replace them according to manufacturer recommendations.
- General Inspection: Look for any signs of physical damage, unusual wear, or leaks.
6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your motor, consider the following common troubleshooting steps:
- Motor Not Running:
- Check battery charge level.
- Verify all electrical connections are secure and free of corrosion.
- Ensure the run/tow switch is in the "RUN" position.
- Inspect the controller and solenoid for proper function.
- Reduced Performance/Speed:
- Check battery voltage under load.
- Inspect motor brushes for wear.
- Ensure proper tire pressure and brake adjustment.
- Overheating Motor:
- Avoid prolonged heavy loads or steep inclines.
- Ensure adequate ventilation around the motor.
- Check for any binding in the drivetrain.
- Loose or Broken Terminals/Studs: Handle motor terminals with care during installation and maintenance. Overtightening or excessive force can cause damage. If a terminal is damaged, professional repair or replacement may be necessary.
