1. Product Overview
The KKmier Infrared Thermometer is a professional, non-contact device designed for accurate and rapid temperature measurement. It is suitable for measuring body temperature (forehead and ear modes) as well as surface temperatures of objects, liquids, and ambient environments. Its advanced infrared sensor ensures quick readings, and the multi-color display provides immediate fever alerts.

2. Setup
2.1 Battery Installation
The thermometer requires two AAA batteries (not included). To install the batteries:
- Locate the battery cover at the bottom of the handle.
- Slide the battery cover open.
- Insert two AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+ and -) as indicated inside the compartment.
- Close the battery cover securely.
The device will power on automatically once batteries are correctly inserted.
3. Operating Instructions
3.1 Power On/Off
Press the measurement button (trigger) to power on the device. The thermometer will automatically shut off after 13 seconds of inactivity to conserve battery life.
3.2 Mode Selection (Body/Surface)
The thermometer supports two main measurement modes: Body mode and Surface mode. To switch between modes, press the 'Mode/Memory' button (M button) located below the LCD screen. The current mode will be displayed on the screen.

3.3.1 Forehead Mode (Body Temperature)
Ensure the probe cover is attached. Point the thermometer at the center of the forehead, maintaining a distance of 0-3 cm (0-1.18 inches). Press the measurement button. The reading will appear on the display within 1 second.
3.3.2 Ear Mode (Body Temperature)
Remove the probe cover. Gently insert the probe snugly into the ear canal. Do not force it. Press the measurement button. The reading will appear on the display within 1 second.
3.3.3 Object/Room Temperature Mode (Surface Temperature)
Switch to Surface mode. Point the thermometer at the object or area you wish to measure. Press the measurement button. This mode is suitable for measuring temperatures of liquids (e.g., baby formula), food, or ambient room temperature.
3.4 Unit Conversion (°C/°F)
To switch between Celsius (°C) and Fahrenheit (°F), press and hold the mute/unmute button (speaker icon) for 3 seconds. The unit will change on the display.

3.5 Memory Function
The thermometer can store up to 40 sets of measurement data. To recall previous readings, press the 'Mode/Memory' button (M button) repeatedly. Each press will cycle through the stored measurements in chronological order.

3.6 Silent Mode
To mute or unmute the audible alarm, press the mute/unmute button (speaker icon) once. This is useful for taking measurements without disturbing a sleeping child.
3.7 Understanding Display Colors
The LCD display changes color to indicate temperature ranges:
- Green: Normal temperature (32.0°C - 37.5°C / 89.6°F - 99.5°F)
- Orange: Lighter fever (37.6°C - 38.0°C / 99.7°F - 100.4°F)
- Red: Fever (38.1°C - 42.9°C / 100.6°F - 109.2°F)

4. Maintenance
4.1 Cleaning the Thermometer
- Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the body of the thermometer.
- For the probe, gently wipe with an alcohol swab or a cotton swab moistened with alcohol. Ensure the probe is completely dry before use.
- Do not immerse the thermometer in water or any other liquid.
- Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents.
4.2 Storage
Store the thermometer in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight, dust, and extreme temperatures. Keep it out of reach of children.
4.3 Battery Replacement
When the low battery indicator appears on the display, replace both AAA batteries promptly to ensure accurate readings. Follow the battery installation steps in Section 2.1.
5. Troubleshooting
