This manual provides detailed instructions for the safe and effective operation of the coczow PM2116S Full-Automatic Clamp Meter. This device is a compact, auto-ranging digital multimeter designed for measuring AC/DC voltage, AC/DC current, resistance, continuity, and frequency. It features True RMS measurement for accuracy and a Non-Contact Voltage (NCV) detection function for enhanced safety. Please read this manual thoroughly before use and retain it for future reference.
2. Safety Information
WARNING: To avoid electric shock or personal injury, please read and understand all safety information before using this product.
- Always adhere to local and national safety codes.
- Do not use the meter if it appears damaged or if the test leads are damaged.
- Do not apply more than the rated voltage, as marked on the meter, between the terminals or between any terminal and earth ground.
- Use caution when working with voltages above 30V AC RMS, 42V peak, or 60V DC. These voltages pose a shock hazard.
- Keep your fingers behind the finger guards on the test probes during use.
- Do not operate the meter around explosive gas, vapor, or dust.
- Before measuring current, ensure the meter is in the correct function and the test leads are properly connected.
- Always disconnect the test leads from the circuit before changing functions.
- Replace the batteries immediately when the low battery indicator appears to ensure accurate readings.
3. Product Overview

3.1 Key Components
- Clamp Jaw: Used for non-contact AC/DC current measurement.
- Function Buttons: For power, mode selection, data hold, and backlight.
- LCD Display: Shows measurement readings, units, and function indicators.
- Input Jacks: For connecting test leads (COM and VΩHz).
- NCV Sensor: Detects non-contact voltage.

3.2 LCD Display Indicators

- AUTO: Indicates automatic measurement mode.
- NCV: Non-Contact Voltage detection active.
- AC/DC: Indicates Alternating Current or Direct Current measurement.
- H: Data Hold function active.
- Battery Icon: Indicates battery level.
- Units: V (Volts), A (Amperes), Hz (Hertz), Ω (Ohms), kΩ (Kilo-Ohms).
4. Setup
4.1 Battery Installation
The meter requires two 1.5V AAA batteries for operation. Ensure correct polarity when installing.
- Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the meter.
- Use a screwdriver to open the battery compartment.
- Insert two 1.5V AAA batteries, observing the polarity markings (+ and -).
- Replace the battery compartment cover and secure it with the screw.
4.2 Connecting Test Leads
For voltage, resistance, continuity, and frequency measurements, connect the test leads as follows:
- Insert the black test lead into the COM (common) input jack.
- Insert the red test lead into the VΩHz input jack.

5. Operating Instructions
The coczow PM2116S features full-automatic recognition, simplifying operation by automatically identifying the measurement type (voltage, resistance, continuity, frequency) when test leads are connected. For current measurement, the clamp function is used.

5.1 Power On/Off
Press the red power button (①) to turn the meter on. The meter will automatically enter auto-ranging mode. Press and hold the power button to turn the meter off. The meter also features an auto-shutdown function after 10 minutes of inactivity to conserve battery life.
5.2 AC/DC Voltage Measurement
- Ensure the meter is powered on.
- Connect the black test lead to the COM jack and the red test lead to the VΩHz jack.
- Touch the test probes to the circuit points where voltage is to be measured. The meter will automatically detect AC or DC voltage and display the reading.

5.3 AC/DC Current Measurement (Clamp Function)
The clamp function allows for non-contact measurement of AC/DC current up to 100A.
- Ensure the meter is powered on.
- Open the clamp jaw by pressing the trigger.
- Place the single conductor (wire) through the center of the clamp jaw. Ensure the jaw is fully closed.
- The meter will display the AC or DC current reading. Note: To measure current, the conductor must be isolated; clamping around a combined power cord (live and neutral) will result in a zero reading.

5.4 Resistance Measurement
- Ensure the meter is powered on.
- Connect the black test lead to the COM jack and the red test lead to the VΩHz jack.
- Touch the test probes across the component or circuit where resistance is to be measured. The meter will automatically detect and display the resistance reading in Ohms (Ω) or Kilo-Ohms (kΩ).
- Ensure the circuit is de-energized before measuring resistance.
5.5 Continuity Test
- Ensure the meter is powered on.
- Connect the black test lead to the COM jack and the red test lead to the VΩHz jack.
- Touch the test probes to the two points of the circuit to be tested for continuity.
- If continuity exists (resistance is low), the meter will emit an audible beep and display a low resistance value.

5.6 Frequency Measurement
- Ensure the meter is powered on.
- Connect the black test lead to the COM jack and the red test lead to the VΩHz jack.
- Touch the test probes to the circuit where frequency is to be measured. The meter will automatically detect and display the frequency in Hertz (Hz).
5.7 Non-Contact Voltage (NCV) Detection
The NCV function allows for detection of AC voltage without direct contact with conductors, enhancing safety.
- Press the SEL/NCV button to activate NCV mode. The NCV indicator will appear on the display.
- Move the top part of the meter (where the NCV sensor is located) close to the conductor or outlet.
- If AC voltage is detected, the meter will emit an audible beep and the NCV indicator will flash. The frequency of beeps and flashes increases with stronger voltage.

5.8 Data Hold Function
To freeze the current reading on the display:
- During a measurement, press the H/* button. The 'H' indicator will appear on the display.
- Press the button again to release the data hold function.
5.9 Backlight Function
To illuminate the display in low-light conditions:
- Press and hold the H/* button to turn on the backlight.
- Press and hold the button again to turn off the backlight.

6. Maintenance
6.1 Cleaning
Wipe the meter with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Do not use abrasives or solvents. Keep the input terminals free of dirt and moisture.
6.2 Battery Replacement
When the battery icon appears on the display, replace the batteries immediately to ensure accurate measurements. Follow the instructions in Section 4.1.
7. Troubleshooting
