6. Setup

  1. Inspect the Probe: Before each use, visually inspect the sensor probe and cable for any signs of damage, fraying, or contamination. Do not use if any damage is observed.
  2. Connect to Monitor: Carefully align the 5-pin connector of the SpO2 probe with the corresponding port on your compatible medical monitor. Insert the connector firmly until it clicks into place, ensuring a secure connection.
  3. Apply to Patient:
    • For finger clip sensors: Place the patient's finger into the clip, ensuring the finger is fully inserted and the sensor is positioned correctly on the fingertip.
    • For other sensor types (e.g., neonatal wrap): Follow the specific instructions provided with that sensor type for proper application to the patient.
  4. Verify Connection: Once connected and applied, turn on the medical monitor and verify that the SpO2 probe is recognized and data is being transmitted correctly.
