6. Troubleshooting Common Issues

This section addresses common operational problems. For issues not listed, contact customer support.

6.1 Generator Will Not Start

  • No Fuel: Check fuel levels (gasoline or LP gas). Ensure fuel valves are open.
  • Incorrect Start Procedure: Verify the Powerdial is in the correct position (Cold Start/Run).
  • Low Oil: The generator has a low oil shutdown feature. Check engine oil level and add if necessary.
  • Spark Plug: Inspect the spark plug for fouling or damage.

6.2 Generator Shuts Down During Operation

  • Overload: Reduce connected electrical loads.
  • Low Oil: Check engine oil level.
  • COsense Activation: If the COsense indicator light is on, move the generator to an area with fresh air and allow it to cool before restarting.
  • Lack of Fuel: Check fuel levels.

6.3 GFCI Outlets Trip Frequently

Some modern appliances, particularly refrigerators with variable speed compressors, can cause GFCI outlets to trip due to fluctuating current draws. Consider using a GFCI-compatible adapter or consulting an electrician for alternative solutions if this issue persists with specific appliances.
