4. Setup

4.1 Inserting SIM Cards

  1. Locate the SIM card tray on the side of your ZenFone 8.
  2. Use the provided SIM ejector tool to open the tray.
  3. Place your Nano-SIM cards into the designated slots, ensuring proper orientation. The ZenFone 8 supports Dual SIM Dual Standby (4G+5G).
  4. Gently push the tray back into the phone until it is flush with the device body.

4.2 Initial Power On and Charging

  1. Press and hold the Power button (located on the side) until the ASUS logo appears.
  2. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the initial setup, including language selection, Wi-Fi connection, and Google account setup.
  3. Before first use, it is recommended to fully charge your device. Connect the USB cable to the phone's USB-C port and the other end to a power adapter. The 4000mAh battery supports quick charge up to 60% in approximately 25 minutes.

5. Operating Your ZenFone 8

5.1 Display and Navigation

  • The ZenFone 8 features a 5.92" FHD+ 120Hz AMOLED Display (2448x1080) with a 1ms response time for smooth visuals.
  • Navigate using touch gestures: tap, swipe, pinch-to-zoom.
  • Utilize the one-handed mode for comfortable control, especially given its portable design.

5.2 Camera Usage

  • Rear Cameras: The dual-camera system includes a 64MP wide-angle camera with a Sony IMX686 sensor and a 12MP ultrawide-angle camera. Open the Camera app to select modes like Photo, Video, Portrait, and more.
  • Front Camera: A 12MP front camera is available for selfies and video calls.

  • Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SM8350 Octa-core processor with 8GB of RAM, ensuring top-notch performance for demanding applications and multitasking.

5.5 Water and Dust Resistance

The ZenFone 8 is certified IP68 for water and dust resistance. This means it can withstand immersion in up to 1.5 meters of fresh water for up to 30 minutes. However, this is not a permanent condition and resistance might decrease as a result of normal wear. Do not charge a wet device. Liquid damage is not covered under warranty.

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, lint-free cloth to clean the screen and body. Avoid abrasive materials or harsh chemicals.
