  • Ensure the power supply voltage matches the rating specified on the cooler.
  • Do not operate the cooler with a damaged cord or plug. If damaged, contact authorized service personnel.
  • Always unplug the cooler before filling water, cleaning, or performing any maintenance.
  • Do not immerse the cooler, cord, or plug in water or other liquids.
  • Keep the cooler away from heat sources, open flames, and direct sunlight.
  • Ensure the cooler is placed on a stable, level surface to prevent tipping.
  • Do not block the air inlet or outlet vents.
  • This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.

3. What's in the Box

Upon unpacking, please verify that all the following components are present:

  • 1 unit of Crompton Zelus DAC28 Air Cooler
  • 4 Push Type Wheels
  • Warranty Card
  • Instruction Manual (this document)

4. Setup

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the air cooler from its packaging. Retain packaging materials for future transport or storage.
  2. Wheel Installation: Turn the cooler upside down. Insert the four push-type wheels into the designated slots at the bottom of the unit until they click securely into place. Ensure all wheels are firmly attached before placing the cooler upright.
  3. Positioning: Place the air cooler on a firm, level surface in the desired location. For optimal cooling, position the cooler near an open window or door to allow fresh air intake and proper ventilation.
  4. Water Filling: Open the water inlet cap. Fill the water tank with clean water up to the 'MAX' level indicated by the water level indicator. Do not overfill. For enhanced cooling, you may add ice cubes to the dedicated ice chamber.
  5. Power Connection: Ensure the cooler is switched off. Plug the power cord into a suitable electrical outlet (230V AC).

5. Operating Instructions

The Crompton Zelus DAC28 features intuitive knob controls for fan speed and cooling mode.

  1. Power On/Off: Turn the main knob to the 'ON' position to start the cooler. Turn it to 'OFF' to switch it off.
  2. Fan Speed Adjustment: Rotate the fan speed knob to select your desired airflow: Low, Medium, or High. The cooler offers 4 speeds for varied comfort.
  3. Cooling Mode: Rotate the cooling mode knob to activate the water pump for evaporative cooling. When the pump is active, water circulates over the honeycomb pads, providing a cooling effect.
  4. 4-Way Air Deflection: The cooler is equipped with 4-way air deflection. Use the horizontal louvers to manually adjust the vertical airflow direction. The vertical louvers feature an auto-swing function to distribute air horizontally across the room.
  5. Ice Chamber Usage: For enhanced cooling, open the ice chamber lid located on top of the unit and place ice cubes inside. This will further cool the air passing through the pads.
  6. Inverter Compatibility: This cooler is designed to be inverter compatible, allowing it to operate efficiently even during power outages when connected to a suitable home inverter.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your air cooler.

  • Water Tank Cleaning: Drain the water tank regularly, especially if the cooler is not used for an extended period. Clean the tank with a mild detergent and water to prevent algae and bacterial growth.
  • Honeycomb Pad Cleaning: The high-density honeycomb pads should be cleaned periodically. Remove the back panel and gently rinse the pads under running water. Allow them to dry completely before re-installing. Do not use harsh chemicals.
  • Everlast Pump Care: The Everlast pump is designed to handle high TDS water. However, regular cleaning of the water tank helps maintain pump efficiency and prevents mineral buildup.
  • Exterior Cleaning: Wipe the exterior of the cooler with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Storage: If storing the cooler for a long period, ensure the water tank is empty and dry, and the honeycomb pads are clean and dry. Cover the unit to protect it from dust.
