5. Setup

5.1 Charging the Speaker

Before first use, fully charge the speaker. Connect the supplied USB charging cable to the DC IN 5V port on the speaker and the other end to a USB power adapter (not included) or a computer's USB port. The charging indicator light will illuminate during charging and turn off when fully charged.

5.2 Powering On/Off

To power on the speaker, toggle the Power Switch to the ON position. To power off, toggle the switch to the OFF position.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Bluetooth Pairing

  1. Ensure the speaker is powered on and within 10 meters (33 feet) of your Bluetooth device.
  2. The speaker will automatically enter Bluetooth pairing mode when powered on for the first time, or if no device is connected. The Bluetooth indicator light will flash.
  3. If already connected to a device, or to force pairing mode, long press the ▶▶ button (PAIR).
  4. Enable Bluetooth on your device (smartphone, tablet, computer).
  5. Search for "AIWA MI-X180" in the list of available devices and select it.
  6. Once paired, the Bluetooth indicator light will become solid, and you will hear a confirmation tone.

Note: The speaker will automatically attempt to reconnect to the last paired device when powered on.

6.2 AUX Input Mode

To use the AUX input:

  1. Connect one end of the supplied 3.5mm AUX cable to the AUX IN port on the speaker.
  2. Connect the other end of the AUX cable to the headphone jack or audio output port of your external audio device (e.g., MP3 player, TV).
  3. The speaker will automatically switch to AUX mode. Adjust volume using the speaker's volume knob and your external device.

6.3 Hands-Free Calling

When connected to a smartphone via Bluetooth:

  • Answer Call: Short press the ▶▶ button (PLAY/PAUSE).
  • End Call: Short press the ▶▶ button (PLAY/PAUSE) during a call.
  • Reject Call: Long press the ▶▶ button (PLAY/PAUSE) when an incoming call rings.
  • Redial Last Number: Double press the ▶▶ button (PLAY/PAUSE).

6.4 True Wireless Stereo (TWS) Pairing

To pair two Aiwa MI-X180 speakers for TWS stereo sound:

  1. Ensure both MI-X180 speakers are powered on and not connected to any Bluetooth device.
  2. On one speaker (this will be the primary speaker), long press the ▶▶ button (PAIR) until you hear a TWS pairing prompt.
  3. The two speakers will automatically search for and connect to each other. Once connected, you will hear a confirmation tone, and the indicator lights will change.
  4. Now, connect your Bluetooth device to the primary speaker as described in section 6.1. Audio will play in stereo through both speakers.

Note: TWS pairing only works between two identical MI-X180 speakers.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the speaker. Do not use abrasive cleaners, waxes, or solvents.
  • Storage: Store the speaker in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Battery Care: To prolong battery life, avoid fully discharging the battery frequently. Charge the speaker regularly, even if not in use for extended periods.
  • Water Resistance: This speaker is not water-resistant. Avoid exposure to liquids.

8. Troubleshooting
