1. Product Overview
The Wyze Auto-Lock Bolt is a smart deadbolt designed to provide secure and convenient keyless entry to your home. It replaces existing deadbolts and offers multiple access methods, including fingerprint recognition, a backlit keypad, and Bluetooth control via the Wyze app.

2. Setup and Installation
The Wyze Auto-Lock Bolt is designed for straightforward installation, typically replacing an existing deadbolt in about 20 minutes. Ensure your door's backset, cross bore, and thickness are compatible before beginning.

Installation Steps:
- Remove Existing Deadbolt: Carefully remove your current deadbolt from the door.
- Install New Deadbolt Latch: Insert the new deadbolt latch into the door edge and secure it with screws. Ensure the latch is oriented correctly.
- Install Exterior Keypad: Place the exterior keypad assembly onto the door, feeding the connector cable through the door hole.
- Install Mounting Plate: Secure the interior mounting plate to the door, connecting it to the exterior keypad's screw posts. Ensure the cable is routed correctly.
- Connect Interior Assembly: Connect the cable from the exterior keypad to the interior assembly.
- Install Interior Assembly: Mount the interior assembly onto the mounting plate and secure it with screws.
- Insert Batteries: Open the battery cover on the interior assembly and insert the 4 AA batteries provided.
- Calibrate Lock: Follow the instructions in the Wyze app to calibrate the lock, ensuring the deadbolt extends and retracts smoothly.

3. Operating Instructions
Unlocking and Locking:
- Fingerprint: Place a registered finger on the fingerprint sensor on the exterior keypad. The lock will unlock in under a second.
- Keypad Code: Enter your programmed access code on the backlit keypad, then press the unlock button.
- Anti-Peep Technology: To prevent others from learning your code, you can enter random digits before or after your actual code. The lock will still recognize the correct sequence.
- Wyze App (Bluetooth): Open the Wyze app on your smartphone within Bluetooth range and tap the unlock icon.
- Manual (Interior): From the inside, turn the thumb-turn knob to manually lock or unlock the deadbolt.

Wyze App Features:
The Wyze app serves as your command center for managing the Auto-Lock Bolt. A Bluetooth connection is required for app features.
- View Lock/Unlock History: Monitor who accessed the door, when, and how (fingerprint, code, app), including failed attempts.
- Create Door Codes & Store Fingerprints: Easily add and manage up to 50 fingerprints and multiple access codes for family and guests.
- Emergency One-Time Codes: Generate temporary codes for guests, even remotely without a Bluetooth connection. These codes are single-use and expire within 4 hours.
- Set Auto-Lock Timer: Configure the lock to automatically engage after a specified period (e.g., 15, 30, 60 seconds, 5, or 15 minutes) when unlocked.
- Scheduled Access: Set specific times or days for certain codes or fingerprints to be active.

4. Maintenance
Battery Replacement:
The Wyze Auto-Lock Bolt uses 4 AA batteries, which typically last 10-12 months. The Wyze app will notify you when battery levels are low, and the keypad will flash red as an indicator.
- Open the battery cover on the interior assembly.
- Remove the old AA batteries.
- Insert new 4 AA alkaline batteries, ensuring correct polarity.
- Replace the battery cover.
Emergency Power:
If the batteries die while you are away, a USB-C port is located on the bottom of the exterior keypad. You can use a portable power bank to provide a brief charge, allowing you to enter your access code for entry.

5. Troubleshooting
- Fingerprint Sensor Not Responding: Ensure your finger is clean and dry. Try re-registering your fingerprint in the Wyze app if issues persist.
- Keypad Not Lighting Up: Check battery levels in the Wyze app or replace batteries if low.
- Lock Not Responding to App: Ensure your smartphone's Bluetooth is enabled and you are within range of the lock. Restart the Wyze app.
- Deadbolt Not Extending/Retracting Smoothly: Recalibrate the lock through the Wyze app. Check for any obstructions in the door frame or strike plate.
- Lost Access Code: Generate a new one-time code or reset your primary code via the Wyze app.
- Lock Jams or Multiple Failed Attempts: The lock has a built-in alarm for such events. Check the lock/unlock history in the app for details.
