Setup
1. Power Source Installation
The PTH110BP label maker can be powered by either AAA batteries or an optional AC adapter (sold separately).
Using AAA Batteries:
- Ensure the label maker is turned off.
- Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the unit.
- Slide the cover off.
- Insert six (6) new AAA alkaline batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
- Replace the battery compartment cover until it clicks into place.
Using an AC Adapter (Optional):
- Ensure the label maker is turned off.
- Connect the AC adapter (Brother AD-24ES or equivalent, sold separately) to the AC adapter jack on the side of the label maker.
- Plug the AC adapter into a standard electrical outlet.
2. Tape Cassette Installation
The PTH110BP uses Brother TZe laminated label tapes.
- Ensure the label maker is turned off.
- Open the tape cassette cover located on the top-rear of the unit.
- Insert the TZe tape cassette firmly into the compartment with the tape end facing the print head. Ensure it clicks into place.
- Close the tape cassette cover.

Operating Instructions
Basic Label Creation
- Turn On: Press the Power button.
- Type Text: Use the QWERTY keyboard to enter your desired text. The text will appear on the LCD display.
- Adjust Settings:
- Press Font to change font style.
- Press Size to adjust text size.
- Press Style for bold, italic, outline, shadow, etc.
- Press Frame to add a decorative border.
- Press Cable for specific cable labeling options.
- Preview: Press the Preview button to see how your label will look before printing.
- Print: Press the Print button to print the label.
- Cut: Manually cut the printed label using the cutter lever on the side of the unit.
Advanced Features
- Memory Function: The label maker can store up to 15 frequently used labels for quick reprinting. Use the Menu button to access memory options (Save, Recall).
- Multi-line Printing: Create labels with up to two lines of text. Press the Enter key to move to the next line.
- Symbols: Access over 250 symbols by pressing the Symbol key (often accessed via Shift + a key).

Maintenance
Cleaning the Print Head
To ensure optimal print quality, regularly clean the print head.
- Turn off the label maker and open the tape cassette cover.
- Remove the tape cassette.
- Gently wipe the print head with a dry cotton swab. Do not touch the print head with your bare hands.
- Reinsert the tape cassette and close the cover.
Tape Handling and Storage
- Use only genuine Brother P-Touch TZe tapes for best performance and to prevent damage to the unit.
- Store tape cassettes in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Avoid pulling the tape out of the cassette manually, as this can damage the tape mechanism.
Troubleshooting
