Introduction

The RØDE Wireless GO II Single is a versatile and ultra-compact wireless microphone system designed for a wide range of content creation applications. Setup

1. Charging the Units: Use the provided USB-C to USB-A cables (SC20) to charge both the receiver and transmitter. Connect the USB-C end to the units and the USB-A end to a power source (e.g., computer, USB wall adapter). The battery indicator on the display will show charging status.
2. Powering On/Off: Press and hold the power button on both the receiver and transmitter for a few seconds to power them on or off.
3. Pairing: The Wireless GO II units are typically pre-paired from the factory. If re-pairing is necessary, refer to the RØDE Central app or the quick start guide for detailed instructions.
4. Connecting to a Camera/Mobile Device:
   • For cameras with a 3.5mm TRS input, connect the receiver's 3.5mm output to your camera's microphone input using the SC5 TRS to TRRS cable.
   • For mobile devices or computers, use appropriate USB-C or Lightning adapters (not included) to connect the receiver's USB-C output.
5. Firmware Updates: It is recommended to regularly check for and install firmware updates using the RØDE Central desktop application. This ensures optimal performance and access to new features.

Operating Instructions

1. Understanding the Display: The receiver features a bright LCD screen that displays crucial information, including battery levels for both the receiver and transmitter, audio levels, signal strength, and recording status.
2. Adjusting Gain: Use the 'dB' buttons on the receiver to adjust the audio gain (input level) to prevent clipping and ensure clear recordings. Aim for audio levels that stay primarily in the green range on the display.
3. Built-in Microphone vs. External Lavalier: The transmitter has a high-quality omnidirectional microphone built-in. For discreet placement or specific audio needs, you can connect an external 3.5mm TRS lavalier microphone (not included) to the transmitter's input.
4. On-board Recording: The transmitter features internal memory capable of recording over 40 hours of audio. This acts as a backup in case of wireless interference or dropouts. Recordings can be accessed and exported via the RØDE Central app.
5. Safety Channel: The Wireless GO II offers a safety channel feature, which records a second audio track at -20dB. This provides a clean backup in case the main audio track clips.
6. Using Wind Shields: For outdoor recording or in windy conditions, attach the provided furry windshields to the transmitter's built-in microphone to minimize wind noise and improve audio clarity.

Maintenance

• Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the units. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
• Battery Care: To prolong battery life, avoid fully discharging the units frequently. Store them in a cool, dry place when not in use.
• Firmware Updates: Regularly check the RØDE website or RØDE Central app for the latest firmware updates. Keeping your devices updated ensures optimal performance and compatibility.

Troubleshooting

• No Audio/Low Audio:
  • Ensure both the receiver and transmitter are powered on and paired.
  • Check all cable connections (TRS/TRRS, USB-C).
  • Adjust the gain levels on the receiver.
  • Verify the microphone input settings on your camera or recording device.
• Interference/Dropouts:
  • The Wireless GO II operates on the 2.4GHz band. Avoid placing units near Wi-Fi routers, microwaves, or other 2.4GHz devices.
  • Maintain a clear line of sight between the transmitter and receiver.
  • Ensure units are within the specified operating range (up to 200m line of sight).
• Battery Issues: If units are not charging or holding a charge, perform a factory reset via the RØDE Central app and ensure the latest firmware is installed.
• RØDE Central App: For advanced diagnostics, settings adjustments, and firmware updates, connect your Wireless GO II units to a computer running the RØDE Central application.
