3. Device Components

Familiarize yourself with the different parts of your Inkbird Smart Sensor:

  • Sensor: Integrated sensor for temperature and humidity detection.
  • Current Temperature Display: Shows the real-time temperature reading.

4. Setup Guide

Follow these steps to set up your Inkbird Smart Sensor and connect it to your smartphone:

4.1. Download the App

Search for "Engbird" in the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android) to download the official application. Alternatively, you can scan the QR codes provided in the app download image below.

4.2. Initial Connection

  1. Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your smartphone.
  2. Open the Engbird application.
  3. Make sure the Bluetooth function on the Inkbird device is active. If not, long-press the ℃/℉ / Bluetooth Button on the device to turn it on.
  4. Place the device close to your phone.
  5. In the app, click "Add Sensor" or the "+" icon to search for and add the device.
  6. Once detected, select your device and choose a usage scenario (e.g., Indoor, Outdoor, Humidor) to complete the connection.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. On-Device Operation

  • Temperature Unit Switch: Briefly press the ℃/℉ / Bluetooth Button to toggle between Celsius (℃) and Fahrenheit (℉).
  • View Min/Max Readings: Press the MIN/MAX button to cycle through the minimum and maximum temperature and humidity values recorded since the last reset or power cycle.

5.2. App Operation (Engbird)

The Engbird app provides comprehensive monitoring and control features:

  • Real-time Monitoring: View current temperature and humidity readings directly on the app's home screen.

  • Alert Settings: Set custom temperature and humidity ranges. The app can notify you if readings fall outside your specified limits.

6. Maintenance

6.1. Cleaning

To maintain accuracy and device longevity, wipe the unit clean with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the device in water.

6.2. Battery Replacement

The device uses a CR2032 coin cell battery. When the battery indicator on the display or app shows low power, replace the battery:

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the device.
  2. Use a small tool or coin to gently open the battery cover.
  3. Remove the old CR2032 battery.
  4. Insert a new CR2032 battery with the positive (+) side facing up.
  5. Securely close the battery cover.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Inkbird Smart Sensor, refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:

  • Device Not Connecting to App:
    • Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on both your phone and the Inkbird device.
    • Make sure the device is within the 98ft/30m Bluetooth range.
    • Restart the Engbird app and try reconnecting.
    • Check the device's battery level; replace if low.
    • Try restarting your phone.
  • Inaccurate Readings:
    • Ensure the sensor is not exposed to direct sunlight, strong drafts, or extreme temperature fluctuations.
    • Verify the sensor is clean and free from dust or debris.
    • Allow the device to stabilize for at least 30 minutes after placement in a new environment.
  • Display Not Working:
    • Check and replace the battery.
    • Ensure the battery is inserted correctly with the correct polarity.
