4. Assembly

The HYECHO Cordless Grass Trimmer requires minimal assembly. Follow these steps to prepare your tool for use.

4.1 Attaching the Auxiliary Handle

  1. Locate the D-shaped auxiliary handle.
  2. Press the two red buttons on the handle.
  3. Slide the handle onto the main shaft until it clicks into place. Adjust its position for comfortable operation.

4.2 Installing the Guard Cover

  1. Position the guard cover over the trimmer head.
  2. Align the screw holes on the guard with those on the trimmer head.
  3. Secure the guard cover using a Philips screwdriver and the provided screws.

4.3 Inserting the Battery

  1. Ensure the battery is charged (refer to Section 5.1).
  2. Slide the battery pack into the battery slot on the trimmer handle until it clicks securely into place.
  3. To remove, press the battery release button and slide the battery out.

5. Operating Instructions

Follow these guidelines for safe and effective operation of your HYECHO Cordless Grass Trimmer/Edger.

5.1 Charging the Battery

  1. Connect the charger to a power outlet.
  2. Insert the battery pack into the charger. The indicator light on the charger will show the charging status.
  3. A full charge typically takes approximately 75 minutes for the 2.0Ah battery.
  4. Once fully charged, remove the battery from the charger.

For general grass trimming, hold the tool with both hands, keeping the trimmer head parallel to the ground. Move the trimmer in a sweeping motion across the grass.

5.4 Adjusting for Edging (Edger Mode)

The trimmer head can be rotated for edging along pathways, driveways, and flowerbeds.

  1. Press the head rotation button located near the trimmer head.
  2. Rotate the head 90 degrees until it locks into the edging position.
  3. Utilize the integrated trimmer wheel for stable and precise edging.

5.5 Using the Flower Guard

The retractable flower guard helps protect delicate plants and shrubs from the cutting line. Extend the guard when working near sensitive areas.

5.6 Adjusting Telescopic Handle and Head Angles

The telescopic handle allows for height adjustment (1m to 1.3m) to suit different users and tasks. The trimmer head also offers 5 pivotal angles for optimal working posture and reaching difficult areas.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your grass trimmer.

6.1 Cleaning

6.2 Replacing Trimmer Line

The trimmer features an auto string feeding system. When the line becomes too short or breaks, it will automatically feed more line upon startup. If the spool is empty or the line is damaged, it will need to be replaced.

  1. Ensure the battery is removed.
  2. Press the tabs on the spool cap and remove it.
  3. Remove the empty spool.
  4. Take a new spool of 1.2mm nylon line. Thread the end of the line through the eyelet on the trimmer head.
  5. Place the new spool onto the trimmer head, ensuring it seats correctly.
  6. Replace the spool cap, ensuring it clicks into place.

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Trimmer does not start. Battery not charged or not inserted correctly. Safety lock-off not engaged. Ensure battery is fully charged and securely inserted. Press safety lock-off button before squeezing trigger.
Cutting line does not feed automatically. Spool empty or line tangled. Debris in the line exit hole. Replace spool if empty. Remove spool and untangle line. Clear any debris from the line exit.
Reduced cutting performance. Cutting line too short or worn. Battery charge low. Allow auto-feed to extend line or replace spool. Recharge battery.
Excessive vibration. Damaged cutting line or spool. Loose components. Inspect and replace damaged line/spool. Check all connections and screws for tightness.
