Introduction
This manual provides essential information for the proper installation, operation, and maintenance of your GLOBACT 550 Brushed Motor 12T and 80A ESC Combo. Please read all instructions carefully before use to ensure safe and optimal performance.
Safety Precautions
- Voltage Compatibility: The ESC is designed for 2S LiPo (7.4V) or 5-7 cells NiMH (6V-8.4V) batteries. Do not use 3S LiPo batteries as this is not compatible and may cause damage.
- Over-heat Protection: The ESC features built-in over-heat protection. If the ESC temperature is too high, it will automatically reduce power or shut down. Allow the unit to cool completely before resuming operation.
- Low Voltage Cut-off Protection: For lithium or nickel batteries, this feature prevents over-discharging. Ensure the correct setting is selected for your battery type.
- Throttle Signal Loss Protection: The ESC will stop the motor if the throttle signal is lost.
- Motor Overload: Avoid operating the motor under excessive load or with incorrect gearing, which can lead to overheating and damage.
- Waterproof Design: The ESC and motor feature an IP65 waterproof and dust-proof design, allowing use in various weather conditions. However, prolonged submersion is not recommended.
Product Overview
The GLOBACT 550 Brushed Motor and 80A ESC Combo is engineered for 1/10 scale RC trucks and cars, offering a robust power solution with multiple protective features and versatile operating modes.

The GLOBACT 550 Brushed Motor and 80A ESC Combo provides an ideal power solution for 1/10th scale RC truck and car off-road applications.

The ESC is equipped with multiple protection features including low voltage cut-off, over-heat protection, and throttle signal loss protection.

The ESC supports dual running modes: High Speed Mode and Crawlers Mode, with adjustable BEC voltage settings (7.4V/5A or 6.4V/5A).

The waterproof and dust-proof design ensures reliable operation in all weather conditions.

The GLOBACT 12T 550 motor features an integrated cooling fan for temperature management and a precision balanced rotor for smooth operation.

Detailed dimensions for both the ESC and the 550 motor are provided for installation planning.
Setup Instructions
- Connect BEC Wires: Connect the BEC wires from the ESC to the receiver.
- Connect Motor Wires: Connect the motor wires to the ESC. Ensure correct polarity (M+ to M+, M- to M-).
- Turn on Transmitter: Power on your RC transmitter.
- Connect Battery & Power On ESC: Connect the battery pack to the ESC, then switch on the ESC.
- Calibration: When the connection of motor and battery is finished, the motor emits a "Beep" tone. When the throttle stick is in the neutral position, the motor re-emits a "Beep" tone. The ESC is now workable.

Operating Modes
The GLOBACT 80A ESC offers dual running modes and adjustable BEC voltage via jumpers:
- Running Mode Selection: Use the top jumper to switch between:
- Crawlers Mode: Recommended for crawler vehicles, providing enhanced low-speed control and drag brake functionality.
- High Speed Mode: Recommended for trucks and other high-speed applications.
- BEC Voltage Adjustment: Use the bottom jumper to select the BEC output voltage:
- 7.4V/5A: For high-voltage servos.
- 6.4V/5A: Standard voltage for most servos.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your GLOBACT ESC and motor combo.
- Cleaning: Regularly clean the motor and ESC to prevent dirt and debris buildup. Use a soft brush or compressed air. Avoid spraying cleaners directly into the motor bearings.
- Motor Mounting Screws: Ensure motor mounting screws are of the correct type and size for your vehicle. Do not overtighten to avoid stripping threads.
- Brush Inspection: Periodically inspect the motor brushes. If they show signs of wear or discoloration, replace them to maintain performance.
- Connections: Always check all electrical connections (BEC wires, motor wires, battery pack) for secure fit and signs of damage before and after each use.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Motor doesn't work after power on, no sound. | Loose connections (battery pack, motor, BEC wires, transmitter, receiver, throttle signal wires). | Check all connections. Adjust transmitter TH.TRIM. |
| Motor emits a "Beep" tone only. | Loose connections (BEC wires, transmitter, receiver, throttle signal wires). | Check all connections. Adjust transmitter TH.TRIM. |
| Car can't speed up. | Battery pack voltage too low or ESC temperature too high. | Replace battery pack. Allow ESC to cool down. |
| Car stops suddenly while working. | Motor connections or roadblock. | Check motor connections. Remove obstructions. |
| Car runs in opposite direction. | Transmitter setting or incorrect motor wiring. | Swap two motor wires between ESC and motor. Adjust transmitter settings. |
