Setup
Battery Installation
The Storm 450 headlamp is powered by 3 AAA batteries. To install or replace batteries:
- Locate the battery compartment on the rear of the headlamp unit.

- Insert 3 AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
- Securely close the battery latch until it clicks into place.
Alternatively, the headlamp is compatible with the optional BD1500 rechargeable battery. If using the BD1500, follow its specific charging instructions before installation.

Adjusting the Headband
The elastic headband is adjustable to ensure a comfortable and secure fit. Slide the buckles on the strap to tighten or loosen the band around your head or helmet.

Basic Operation
The Storm 450 features two main buttons on the top of the unit:
- Power Button: Turns the headlamp ON/OFF and cycles through main light modes (proximity, distance).
- Mode Button: Cycles through specialized light modes (red, green, blue, strobe).

Light Modes and Dimming
- White Light (Proximity/Distance): Press the Power Button to turn on. Subsequent presses cycle between proximity (wide beam) and distance (spot beam) modes.
- Dimming: In any white light mode, press and hold the Power Button to dim or brighten the light. Release when desired brightness is reached.
- PowerTap Technology: Tap the side of the headlamp unit to instantly switch between full and dimmed power in white light modes.
- Night-Vision Modes (Red, Green, Blue): Press the Mode Button to activate the red light. Subsequent presses cycle through green, blue, and strobe modes. These modes are ideal for preserving night vision.
- Lock Mode: To prevent accidental activation, press and hold both the Power and Mode buttons simultaneously until the light flashes, indicating it's locked. Repeat to unlock.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the headlamp with a damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Waterproofing: The IP67 rating ensures protection against water immersion. However, always ensure the battery compartment is securely closed before exposing the headlamp to water.
- Battery Care: Remove batteries if the headlamp will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage and corrosion.
- Storage: Store the headlamp in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
