6. Operating Instructions
6.1. Preparing for Lamination
- Turn on the laminator by toggling the power switch to the "ON" position. The "POWER" indicator light will illuminate (usually red).
- Select your desired lamination mode:
- HOT: For thermal laminating pouches. This is the default and most common mode.
- COLD: For self-adhesive laminating pouches (not included). This mode does not use heat.
- Wait for the "READY" indicator light to turn green (approximately 3 minutes for hot mode). This indicates the laminator has reached the optimal operating temperature.

This visual guide demonstrates the four key steps for using the laminator: powering on, selecting the temperature mode, preparing the document within the pouch, and feeding the sealed edge of the pouch into the machine.
6.2. Lamination Process
- Place the document or photo centrally inside a laminating pouch, ensuring there is an even border around the item.
- Insert the sealed edge of the laminating pouch straight into the feed opening of the laminator. Do not insert the open end first.
- The laminator will automatically feed the pouch through. Do not pull or push the pouch during the process.
- Once the pouch exits the rear of the machine, allow it to cool on a flat surface before handling.

This image depicts the laminator in action, with a document smoothly passing through the machine, emphasizing the ease of use and efficient operation.
6.3. Using the ABS Release Lever
If a laminating pouch becomes jammed or misfed during operation:
- Immediately press and hold the ABS release lever, located on the side of the laminator.
- While holding the lever, gently pull the jammed pouch out of the feed opening.
- Release the ABS lever once the pouch is removed.
- Inspect the pouch and document for damage. If reusable, re-insert carefully, ensuring it is straight.

This image highlights the ABS release button, showing how to press it to clear any jammed laminating pouches, ensuring smooth operation and preventing damage to the machine or document.
6.4. Using the Paper Trimmer and Corner Rounder
- Paper Trimmer: Place the paper or laminated document on the trimmer's base, align it with the guide, and slide the blade carriage to cut. Always use on a stable surface.
- Corner Rounder: Insert the corner of your paper or laminated document into the slot of the corner rounder and press down firmly to achieve a rounded corner.

This image demonstrates the practical application of the included paper trimmer for precise cuts and the corner rounder for creating smooth, professional edges on laminated documents or photos.
7. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Ensure the laminator is unplugged and completely cool before cleaning. Wipe the exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Roller Cleaning: Periodically run a cleaning sheet (not included) through the laminator to remove adhesive residue from the rollers.
- Storage: Store the laminator in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
8. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Laminator not turning on. | Not plugged in; power switch off; power outage. | Check power cord connection; ensure switch is ON; check power supply. |
| Pouch jams. | Pouch inserted open end first; pouch inserted crooked; pouch too thick; foreign object. | Press ABS release lever and gently pull out; always insert sealed edge first; ensure straight insertion; use correct pouch thickness; check for obstructions. |
| Bubbles or cloudy lamination. | Temperature too low (hot mode); pouch too thick; old pouches; rollers dirty. | Wait for "READY" light; use correct pouch thickness; use fresh pouches; clean rollers. |
| Laminated item is wavy or curled. | Pouch too thin; item too thin for pouch; cooling too quickly. | Use appropriate pouch thickness; allow to cool slowly on a flat surface. |

This diagram visually explains common user errors that lead to paper jams, such as inserting the unsealed side first, feeding the pouch at an angle, or using a pouch that is too large for the document.
