Setup and Assembly
Your Ellipse device requires minimal assembly before first use. Please follow these steps carefully:
- Unboxing: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. You should find the main unit, two foot pedals, a plastic base, an AC adapter, a stability mat, a wireless remote control, and an owner's manual.

Figure 2: All components included with the Ellipse device.
- Attach Main Unit to Base: Place the main unit into the plastic base. The base is marked 'R' for right and 'L' for left; ensure the longer side of the base faces the front.
- Secure the Base: Carefully turn the unit over. Use a Phillips head screwdriver to attach the six screws on the bottom of the base. The two smaller screws go into the smaller holes near the front.
- Attach Foot Pedals: Identify the right and left pedals. The wheel on each pedal goes to the front, and the "ELLIPSE" writing should be on the outside edge. Align the washers properly as indicated by the red tags. Use the included Allen wrench to tighten the bolts securing the pedals.
- Connect Power: Unpack the AC adapter and plug it into the back of the main unit.
- Install Remote Batteries: The remote control requires two AAA batteries (not included). Insert them into the remote.

- Placement: Place the assembled Ellipse device on the included stability mat, especially if using it on hard or solid surface flooring, to prevent slipping and protect your floors.
Operating Instructions
The Ellipse is designed for ease of use. Once assembled and plugged in, you can begin your passive exercise session.
Getting Started
- Power On: Plug the AC adapter into a wall outlet. The unit must be plugged in to operate as there is no battery option for the main unit.
- Positioning: Sit comfortably in a chair with the Ellipse placed in front of you. Place your feet flat on the foot pedals.

Manual Operation (Unplugged)
The Ellipse can be used manually by unplugging the power cord. This will require active effort from the user to move the pedals. Note that manual use will be more difficult than motorized operation.
Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Ellipse device, follow these simple maintenance guidelines:
- Cleaning: Wipe down the unit with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as they may damage the surface. Ensure the unit is unplugged before cleaning.
- Storage: When not in use, store the Ellipse in a cool, dry place. The large handle on the unit makes it easy to pick up and move for storage.
- Remote Control: If the remote control is not used for an extended period, remove the AAA batteries to prevent leakage.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter any issues with your Ellipse device, please refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Unit does not power on. | Not plugged in; power outlet issue. | Ensure the AC adapter is securely plugged into the unit and a working wall outlet. Test the outlet with another device. |
| Remote control is unresponsive. | Dead batteries; remote not pointed at unit. | Replace the AAA batteries in the remote. Ensure the remote is pointed directly at the front of the Ellipse unit. |
| Pedals are not moving smoothly or are jerking. | Initial start-up jerk; obstruction; unit not on a stable surface. | A slight jerk at start-up is normal. Check for any obstructions around the pedals. Ensure the unit is placed on the stability mat on a flat, stable surface. |
If the problem persists after trying these solutions, please contact customer support.
